The Z3 and Z4 could be obtained originally with cream-colored canvas roof mostly when the body was ligth blue and in red too

I'm hopeful that is the case since BMW put in the extra effort (and cost) to avoid this sort of shutline on the new 3er.

At 4830mm length, the E63/64 6er undercuts the 8er coupe/cabriolet by a mere 20mm. Of course, the 8er is approx. 50mm wider.

I reckon that 4700mm to 4720mm in length would be a good estimate for the new 4er.

Damn. I didnt know the 8-Series is that wide. It's even wider than an S-Class while the 991 is 10cm narrower.

Yep-1902mm width versus 1863mm for the E63/64 6er. Actually 39mm rather than 50mm difference.
