M3/M4 [Spy Shots] 2014 BMW M3 (Impressions, SpyPhotos, Renderings)

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
^If you intend to hold it for several years then yes it would be a good time to buy but if you're like me who offloads often then definitely not.

I too used to offload cars every 36 months but I think I will hold on to this one. I suspect it will be the best M3 BMW will ever make. Sad but true? It has enough tech to keep me happy. Well, I would take the HID but that's the only thing I'm missing.

Don't forget the fact that you have a car that will no longer exist as an M3. From now on, the Coupe/Cabrio will be M4.

Honestly, I think I might be in the minority here who doesn't give a crap about the HP numbers. As long as the car puts the power to the wheels efficiently and posts fast times, it doesn't matter if it has 25hp.

I took my e92 to 8400 RPM tonight. Got my break in service done on Friday. What a blast this car is. I'm keeping this car for years to come. It's just that good. It stands for what M is really about. Not what the folks in the Maketing department think M should be about.

I agree it was pretty damn good and the sole issue I ever really had with mine was the way it's power was delivered, now that's it's turboed I reckon it should be near enough perfect in my eyes but this evolution is ongoing not only with BMW but it's competitors too. That said I won't be having one again cause in the UK the market has fell out of performance cars and I don't fancy footing the bill anymore.

I bet the F80M will produce much less than 225g/km (F10M is at 233g/km) and will not have significant additional CO2 taxes in the UK.

I think it's a bit more than CO2 taxes which are influencing sales of performance cars in the UK. I know of some amazing HP deals which are being offered on E92 M3's at the moment. Fair enough, it's an outgoing model, but the same amazing deals are available on the F10 M5. The dealers can barely give them away.

+1, the only dealers which appear to be not crying are Audi, with them you struggle to get past 6-7% discount and much less if that models got limited supple but with BMW I'm getting offered a sizeable discount from BMW themselves and a lot more than a token gesture from the dealer as well.

Massive discounts available on the M135i too.
Im not talking about discounts or the UK market. Im talking about performance cars. Cars like M3, RS are still expensive to buy and own and the performance are getting out of hand.
S3, M135i are cars with better value and more resonable performance. They are the 'new' performance cars of the modern world.

PS I wish BMW Sweden is available with massive discounts but thats not the case here.

Bah, it seems they only got right the front bumper as there are spy pics which almost reveal it, but with the rear M treatment they´ve just sticked the M6 one.

^ Well, according to that article ( I have the magazine ) " These pictures are no mere flights of fancy, either; they're based on two design drawings smuggled out of Munich's styling studio. " And CARs renders of the F10M turned out to be eerily similar to the real thing.....

It's not exactly hard to predict what the M3 is going to look like.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
