CLS [Spy shots] 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS (Spy shots & Info)

The Mercedes-Benz CLS (initially called the CLS-Class) is a series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from December 2003 to August 2023. The original model was a four-door sedan based on the Mercedes E-Class platform, marketed as a four door coupé. An estate (shooting brake) model was later added to the model range with the second generation CLS.

Why on Earth are some journalists(from Autobild) still saying this will be the dashboard of the new CLS?

This could well be(and I really think it is) an updated version for the E-Class dash.

The photo is taken from the latest issue of Autobild.

OH NO! Please lets this not be true, if it is they have lost me :t-banghea

Need to keep in mind so much more is available A7 Porsche Panamera Soon BMW Coupe etc etc They have to be a step above the E Class

WOW, where did you get that?!! Having owned a W204 I can tell you that if that is real, then that, ladies and gentlemen, is the new interior for the facelifted W204. BIG IMPROVEMENT!!:)

I thin it won´t be this interior....look at this picture and look on the dashboard :D

:t-cheers:

EDIT: go to the first picture !!!!

That would be the best solution…beautiful looking…I really hope, that they are wrong and it will be the Concepts interior - but with cost cutting politics I could imagine that it could also be the W212 styled one.
Mercedes should do an official launch as far as possible - I want to see this car in reality!!

Definitely not gonna be the interior of the F.L W204.

That's pretty much spot on the W212's interior.

If that pic is "undoctored" - it's definitely the new W204 interior. I find it hard to believe the gearshift will be moved to the steering column, but everything else can be expected, especially integration of nav screen and extended trim above the glovebox..

Really? That would be the most extensive F.L interior treatment I've ever seen, from any brand, nonetheless M-B.

The W204 needs it though, its interior could pass for something out of the 80's, but considering it still doesn't stack up to a *BMW* 3-Series' interior (blasphemy considering M-B's supposed to be the interior-kings), not to mention the upcoming 3, which will sell while the W204 is out, it needs the help.

I definitely don't think M-B would move to a column shifter on the C, I'd be shocked. As well, you think they'll duplicate the E's so closely? I'm sure the materials won't be as "up to par", one would think, but that design is pretty damn identical.

I think so. Remember the interior facelift for the W203 was just as extensive (and costly). They changed everything from the tacho's to the centre stack.

OMG, that is the E-Class interior. There is no way that the C would get an entirely new interior for the facelift. Come on guys you all should know better than that.

It most definitely isn't the interior of the new CLS either.

That CLS mule with the E Class dashboard gave me a fright too when I saw it a few months ago. But after looking at the pictures a lot more and after talking with a few members here, I concluded it was just a case of Mercedes engineers putting an E Class interior into the CLS so they do not have to risk the real CLS interior being scooped.

Afterall, the E Class and the CLS share the underlying architecture so the dashboard must share the same width, height, and mounting points. So the E Class dashboard can be swapped for the CLS without any trouble.

While I do not think it is the case, the latest issue of Autobild still show the new CLS using the E Class dashboard.

The interior previewed in the CLS Shooting Break is the real deal. But I doubt the big piece of wood centre console/partition will make it to production. It's be waaaaay too expensive to make in large volumes.

That interior is the CLS interior, NOT the C Class.

The C class will receive an interior upgrade for it's face lift and apparently it will be more in line with the GLK interior.

Let's wait and see :usa7uh: This could very well be the W204 facelift interior. Look at the tach/speedometer. It is W204.

Yeah? Then, what about this BIG piece of wood we have right now?:D

No No, that piece of veneer on the dashboard is a flat-ish piece and only a cosmetic piece. The centre console partition piece would have to have to be quite solid structurally and probably be multi-layered to be strong enough to serve its purpose.

I'd also like it to be true, but I doubt it.............................

2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS Engine Specs Have Emerged

We’ve brought you numerous spy photos of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS over the past months, and now, new 2012 CLS engine specifications have emerged. If the rumors are to be believed, the second generation CLS is expected to be available in four engine variants – two petrol engines and two diesel. With the exception of the AMG version, all will feature the stop/start technology to improve fuel consumption.

For the CLS petrol engines, the two models said to be coming are the CLS350 CGI and the CLS550 CGI. The first will feature the new direct-injection 3.5 liter V6 engine with an output of 306 PS (301 bhp / 225 kW) and 368 Nm (272 lb-ft) of torque, while the 550 CGI will feature a new 4.6 liter twin-turbocharged V8 that delivers 435 PS (429 bhp / 320 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. The CLS 550 CGI is expected to be offered with an all-wheel drive option as well. As for the CLS Diesel options, look for a 350 CDI with a 3.0 liter V6 producing 185 kW (252 PS) as well as a 250 CDI with a four-cylinder diesel engine producing 150 kW (204 PS).

And while we’re on the subject of the CLS, there’s significant speculation that the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake (which made its premiere at Auto China 2010 as a concept) will enter series production for the 2011 model year, meaning those in the market for a larger estate model could soon have another alternative.

The CLS will have the shapes in the concept interior, but with less costly materials. Like the original CLS is will be shaped around the E-class, but have its own distinct style.

This,

....is the current E dash in aluminum trim, with the new multi-function steering wheel that will be working its way into all MB products. Aside from the wheel, there is zero difference from what is in the E-class.

Not sure what the 204 is getting in the FL, but this is not the 204 dash.
