3 Series (E90) Spy photos: E92 Coupe / E93 Convertible Facelift

The BMW E90 is the fifth generation of the BMW 3 Series range. Body styles: E90 (saloon), E91 (estate/touring), E92 (coupé) and E93 (convertible). Predecessor: BMW E46. Successors: F30/F31 3 Series, and F32/F33 4 Series. Production: 2004-2013.
^^ CELIS LEDs are they called. But a unit is never made only out of them, usually only the red bits are CELIS while the indicators are regular LEDs. Sometimes, the brake lights aren't CELIS either.

See, this is the F01 BMW 7er.

Here, you see the brake lights, and indicators are lit: regular LEDs.

And here, the CELIS LEDs are lit (viewed from the side, but of course as you know the CELIS LED tubes are running through the entire unit): they are only the red lights.

It is the very same with the FL e90: CELIS, + LEDs, in the same unit.

I loooooove the lights on the 7 series, that hidden 7 in there, the organic look of the CELIS LED. Simply stunning :icondrool

^ That hidden 7 is just a coincidence :) You cannot even see the dots when the car's braking. It's simply way too bright. You can see it in that picture because of some filter.

I'm not sure that is even a facelifted car. We've seen in other spy shots some significant changes to the front indicators and the rear lights. That doesn't have changes to either.

Maybe the frontbumper is from the facelift, but the headlights and rearlights are definitely from the pre-LCI.

If the headlamps change on the f/l (which looks apparent so far), seems like the E90 M3 sedan may also get yet another facelift.

That depends; maybe the M3 coupé will not get the new headlights. Like M3 E46 and facelift E46 coupé maybe...:usa7uh:

Yea, E46 M3 never got the new headlights from the E46 coupe facelift, just the LED tail lights - which looked like shit with the discrete leds all showing up.

E46 facelift wasn't subtle imo, it was a pretty big (by facelift standards) change to the exterior, it got new hood, new bumper, new headlights, new fenders, new rear bumper and rear light graphics changed, and most importantly the "face" and emotion did change.
IMO this M3 will be facelifted, the e46 case was a once off because obviously, the FL E46 coupe had this happy lifestyle face, instead of the agressive pre FL coupe face, so the E90 M3 will get its 2nd facelift most likely (just new headlights it would seem).
I hope the rear light shape will change though, imo the E92/93 rear lights are kinda out of sync with other bmws.. perhaps just change the boot part like the E90? Looks unlikely but i hope that happens.

I like it a lot. IMO E92 (with M package) is one of the best looking cars, but this LCI on photoshop looks even better. I hope we will see this picture in higher resolution, and ofcourse rear.

When is press release ? Deliveries starts in March next year ?

Turn indicators in rear lights are moved upwards, on place where brake lights were before. I wonder if rear lights will have different ("L") shape...

Does anyone know when is press release ?

Thanks!

I only now notice that the area of the headlights that's closest to the kidney grille is different than before the FL!
As for the L shape, I think it'll stay exactly like it is, you can pretty much see the shape through the tape...

Good eye on the brake light/turn indicator.

I´m starting to be afraid about the frontlights, they are the best feature of the current car, they are quite slim and sleek, they ones we are seeing in the spy pics don´t convince me at all, and the air intake featured on the render is not my cup of tea.
