Sport Auto - Nordschleife laptimes

Wow great laptimes for 488gtb. I hope sport auto does supertest of Mclaren 675LT. My prediction is that LT would lap nurburgring definetly under 7:20, probably around 7:14-7:18
A member on another forum said that it was actually slower than the 488. 7:2x

I am more interested in the 688 MSO High Sport, which is supposed to be 40 kg lighter than the 675, and also provide 220 kg more downforce (and 13 hp extra, LOL)
I think members on mclife said actually about 15kg lighter.

Sorry guys, it seems that it is an extra issue next to AutoZeitung, because I only got the "normal" magazine... :bored:

But 718 Cayman PDK vs Audi TTS comparison is cool tho. :notworthy:

Didn't H.v.Saurma already done supertest of GT S Amg in auto zeitung?

Under eight minutes is fairly respectable for something with less than 400 horsepower.

I very much look forward to the AMG GT S supertest; it should be fascinating.

What a nice sound! It's nothing like the farts from the 718...

Yes, but those farts propel you very, VERY fast... only 5 seconds short of the GT4's record in the Nurburgring!:D

More seriously, anyone has an estimate of how many seconds has the Nordschleife track improved after the recent changes (which would benefit the 718 CS)?

I would estimate that in the grand scheme of things, the changes to the Nordschleife had little effect on laptimes; and any change would likely depend on the car being tested.

Maybe you are right... but if you look at Joerg Weidinger's lap driving the GTS, you'll see that there's a jump going up to Flugplatz where he goes from full throttle to no throttle , from 225 km/h to around 182 km/h before he gets back on the throttle (minute 1:00 vid time and 0:49 laptime) all in fifth gear.

Well, that jump doesn't exist anymore. Therefore, I think that, in the case of the GTS at least, the whole section where the jump was and through Flugplatz until the double right hander that comes next would have be done faster as he didn't have to slow down for the jump, only for the corner that follows and the car would be more planted. How much faster I really don't know.

You are probably right - it's probably a good bit faster through that section; although it is very difficult to say just how fast... we cannot really isolate the variables well enough. The Nordschelife changes far too much.
