Definitely not beautiful, BMW M division had the chance to bring out a proper M car they could have brought something with more style and flare as an sports car. This will just be a massive M version of an X7 with different lights. Monstrosity of a car to be honest.

Aston Martin DBX and new Ferrari eat this thing for breakfast lol

It will print money. There is also the 3.0 CSL coming.

It’s laughable how you are printing the success of this monstruosity, even already comparing it to the G63 or Purosangue.
Ferrari’s brand and the G-Class heritage is beyond speculations, that’s all the XM is for now.

Just remember how the same was said before relaunching the 8 series and it turned out to be flop.

Not sure if this image has been posted before, but it looks very slab sided and square edged

No, it is not, it sells between 20,000 and 30,000 units per year, which is far from a flop
Half of the 20,000 8-series sold in 2020 were grancoupe models. 2-door models were never preferred. Dealers don't want the car in the US, where it should sell the most.

It was the same regarding F12 6er as well. Gran Coupe outsold the Coupe and Cabrio just as 8er Gran Coupe outsells the 8er Coupe and Cabrio.
It’s happening with the 4 too. Customers prefer the extra flexibility in these 4dr coupes.

The 8 series cannot compete with the S-class. It is the continuation of the 6 series. is a subclass.
The 8 can’t really compete with the S-Klasse as they discontinued the S Coupe and Cabrio. It looks like 8 Coupe and Cabrio will be discontinued for the next generation for a new series of 8/i8. As Gran Coupe only.

What's your point? The comment I replied to said that the 8 series turned out to be flop, and that's not true, and please do not post the information 90% of the time wrong from that site "car industry analysis" is not reliable, never

Whether you like it or not, if it is a kind of part niche part competitor, as is the Panamera, and I remind you that they are on par, no "subclass" do not invent, the S at the end of CLS is not tell you anything? the 8 series above the 7, doesn't tell you anything? yes, you know, but you run out of arguments and say anything...

That remains to be seen

My friend, your knowledge about cars is a bit lacking. That's why you don't understand some things. The S-class coupe is the successor to the CL. The 8 series is the continuation of the 6 series. Only the name has changed. The S-class coupe was superior to the 8-series in every way. It was a thoroughbred S-class. You can put it side by side with a bentley continental, but you can't put it in the 8 series. There was a choice of V8 and V12 engines. You can even get a 6-cylinder diesel in the 8 series. The 8 series isn't exactly a car that fits the definition of a luxury coupe. This is the main reason for its failure. It emerged as a hybrid car. that's why customers didn't prefer it much. It reflects the truth in the sales data. Yes, half of the chassis types sold are 4-door models. It is not difficult to guess. People do not prefer 2-door coupes as much as they used to.

Why it didnt sell if it was “superior

Why it didnt sell if it was “superior
A luxury coupe with a V8-V12 engine was sold for as much as could be. Sales volume would not have increased without the 4-door model and wide engine range in the 8 series. The shine of luxury SUVs in recent years has destroyed interest in this segment. even mercedes, which has been selling this type of car for decades, has stopped production.

2020 figures (s-class production ended in spring)

8 series coupe 6,100
S-class coupe 3,200
Bentley Continental 2,800

8 series cabriolet 4,900
Bentley Continental Cabriolet 1,950
S-class cabriolet 1,100

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
