7 Series (G70) [Rumors] BMW (G70) 7-Series Facelift (Spy pics & info)

The BMW G70 is the seventh generation of the BMW 7 Series, produced since July 2022. Model codes: G70 (short-wheelbase), G71 (long-wheelbase), and G73 (high-security). It has an electric variant, the BMW i7, along with Inline 6 740i and V8 760i models.

this is pretty accurate no?

In terms of sheetmetal surfacing, there has always been alot to like about the G70 7 series. Some reservations lie in what has been screwed, bolted or clipped on to the bodyshell. Sugar-Design's proposal is quite an improvement IMHO.

My pet beef about the G70 remains though. It simply takes up too much space and is simply too large for it's own good. Just shy of 5400mm L. IMHO, unnecessarily excessive. Trimming some length and height would put the G70 right on the money.

The front end of the current 7 series is its biggest styling failing; it just looks so awkward from every angle you look, there is nothing pretty or inspiring about it. There are many other cars with split headlights that can teach the BMW a thing or two about looking good. The hood height and front overhang is the problem. If they can invert the front end to make it look like older shark nose BMWs then it could possibly make the front end look decent.

There are several inconsistencies with the 7er front end. The double eyebrow theme in the daytime runners looks goofy, with the ill-fitted grill that fails to connect with the design theme, and the main headlights are disconnected from the grill's design in shape. It is an incongruent design language overall. Hopefully, the facelift can fix these issues. The slightly shorter front overhang, single strip daytime runners, and grill shape may rectify it.

July 2026
An interminable wait.
To compensate, it will be entertaining in the meantime. As I understand it (correct me if I'm wrong), the order will be:

i3 - March / April approximately?
At least a concept at some Concorso d'Elegance?
7 Series - July?
X5 - August?
G50 - October?
iX4 - December or even 2027?

If you can't observe the issues with the vehicles fundamental proportions, there's no point in discussing it further.

There is no issue with the proportions. But you're right we sure as hell aren't going to discuss that any further, as you are here only to troll the 7er.

I will never understand the split headlights.

It's really not that hard to understand. But like the post above, it's pointless to discuss.
I could try telling you how split lights give way more design freedom, but I guess you do not want to hear any rational reason why many brands do this.

Production of the facelifted 7 Series will begin in July 2026, but the launch will happen a few months earlier. The car could be introduced in May or June 2026.

I mean nobody has ever tried to explain the rationale to me anyway. At least in terms of "design freedom"

I just don't like the look of them for the most part.

I think the G70 would be served better with just a regular set of headlights. Maybe the NK style, but a bit flatter and boxier given that it's a boxier design overall.
