A5/S5/RS5 RS5 vs RS5 Facelift

This poll has to be made.
Many people are upset about the facelift of the A5/S5/RS5 that Audi did. But Ive also hear many that like the new design.

So, a simple question for you: Which RS5 looks better in your opinion? The original, or the facelifted one?

Was in dealers today and was fortunate enough to see both A5 versions side by side (OK one car between them) and if you like pre-facelift looks better its probably because you haven't seen the FL in person. The lights give the car a new aggressiveness at lifts it above the pre-FL model.

I have yet to see the FL model in person, but I agree with you. Many new models are like this - 2012 SLK, the new A6 - they may not be as inherently beautiful as their predecessors, but the new models have a much fresher 'edge' to them that really stands out in person. For that, I voted FL RS5.

I've seen both IRL, all versions.

And there is now way on earth that the FL is a better looking car.
The original has it all, the design, the masculine lines.
The facelift is nice, but sorry, not my cup of tea. If I will ever be fortune enough to own one, it will defenitely be the original beauty.

I have to go with the facelift on this one,though I wasn't sure initially when the new front first debuted. Can't wait for a test drive,and I can finally see in the flesh!

The original looks cleaner, more timeless, and more aggressive. The new one is melty and fussy, typical to new fashion trends, but doesn't look as harmonizing or simply "good" and impacting to my eyes.

The pre facelift by a huge mile. The post FL, with all that dead space between the headlight and the grill, suffers from Down's syndrome like the 1er, just to a lesser degree.

Although, one thing I give to the facelift is the chrome being replaced with shadowline trim.

That is just an option. In the original, you could also choose if you wanted it chromed, or not:

You may dislike Audi and their cars but you can't deny that when it comes to freshening their products they make a better fist of it than their competitors who's replacements generally win little praise. Here we have a split decision which is far removed from opinions of the C-class and the 3 series.

To me, the original posses the Audi language. The FL, while introducing the new language, seems to go a bit far IMO. Honestly, I think Audi could have done a better job with the FL. The way the front looks on that car is just off. There is too much dead space and the headlights look too small for a car with such a presence. That is why the original works for me because it uses the space wisely and it goes with the overall presence of the car, especially the front bumper, side panels, and hood.
