RS3 vs 1M Coupe (likes and dislikes)

They done a lot more wrong decions than that but this isnt the thread about it :usa7uh:

No worries mate. :usa7uh:

Anyway for what it's worth I like the 1M, said it before and will repeat it again. I just wished I could combine the elements I like from both brands M & RS into one car. :t-cheers:

In your little fantasy world, what kind of car would that end up being? :D

I know that if I were to do the same, I would give the 1M the Sports tourer 5-d body. As a complement, that is.

Hey footie, so did you figure it out yet? ;)

ps. there is one significant area where the TT RS engine is actually better, but knowing your ignorance when it comes to cars, especially Audis, I doubt you know what it is. ;)

To pick the best of both the RS3 and 1M? :eusa_thin

Ok:

The looks of the 1M
The engine and transmission from the RS3
The interior complete with steering wheel and seats of the RS3
The balance and finesse of the 1M but with the traction and sure-footedness of the RS3.

Such a car in my opinion would be the Ultimate machine. :t-cheers:

Probably, but I think Audi is closer to offer something like that product.

For me at least this statement would be true but not for everyone. One thing I do know is that if the 1M had been available at the time I bought the M3 then it would have got the nod because FI engines are more suited to what I want from a road car.

From the pics Klier posted, I'll take the TT-RS please :)

Agreed but when you compare interior (doesn't matter whether it's the RS3 or TT-RS) the Audi interior looks like they are from completely different price brackets of at least two price levels above that of the 1M, there's just nothing remotely to get excited about the interior of the 1er, functional is the only thing one could say about it. Compare to it exterior the inside of the 1M is the most boring of places to set your butt.

Yes I reacted much when I saw the 1M interior. I mean... C'mon!! It looks so cheap... Plastic... Dark... I really hate it. BMW is far behind Audi and Mercedes when it comes to interiors.

I don't think the actual quality of the materials are much different but their design definitely is behind.

It looks like an interior from an E36 from 1995 or something...

Funny you should mention that because a dear friend of mine has always felt the same way towards BMW interiors, to him their design hasn't changed much in the past 30 years, right down to the fact that he reckons they are using the same instrument display, we know they don't but I think we can see his point. Considering how much development they do else where in their cars why can't they improve the one element which we all spend the most time interacting with.

Aren't those optional Audi interiors, that are usually pictured, in fact, in a completely different price bracket?

The bucket seats are the only difference. Here is the RS3 without them to compare. :usa7uh:

The difference isn't all that big anymore, right? Not that I'm a fan of overly designed interiors, I like plain and functional. I actually think the interior in these picture is better looking than the optional.

I love the manual AC knobs. They really look in place in a car like this!
