Ghost Rolls-Royce Ghost

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a full-sized luxury car manufactured by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The "Ghost" nameplate, is named in honour of the Silver Ghost, a car first produced in 1906. The production model was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Ghost Extended Wheelbase was introduced in 2011. During development, the Ghost was known as the "RR04". It was designed as a smaller, "more measured, more realistic car" than the Phantom, aiming for a lower price category for Rolls-Royce models.
Oh, how I hate that "Adidas fashion" ... C'mon Sportswear fits in a gym not in a RR. :t-banghea:t-banghea:t-banghea:t-banghea

I really hate seeing people in Sportswear outside the gym or other sports / recreational area.

It's so ... not right. :t-hands:

Very trashy IMO.

In all honesty, I truly hate this kind of uptight attitude. I never knew that there was a dress code required to drive a car? In all honesty, I would be the type of guy who steps out of a RR in a tank-top, shorts and flip-flops. It's a car, get over it. If he has enough money to buy one, he take a sh!t in it for all that matters, so wearing an adidas warm-up is not a big deal. His car, his wardrobe, what's the problem? :t-hands:

^I kinda agree... I like feeling comfortable when i drive and you won't feel comfortable while driving in suit or some fancy shoes, that's for sure, been there done that.:jpshakehe

I'm always dressed casual, jeans and t-shirt or fully in sportswear, Adidas and Puma that is. :D That's how i feel comfortable, doesn't matter if i'm sitting in my office or in my car.

I hate when i'm on my business trips because i hate wearing suits.

It's all about respect.

Respect to the heritage & image the brand carries. Or any other thing not just the car / brand in that matter. Or even more: for other people.

It's just disrespectful to ignore all of that.

****

Imagine wearing all the stuff you've listed in eg. a church, temple or a mosque. Or in a gallery. Or museum.

You just don't wear eg. sportswear in some occasions. Some people obviously just don't care: either due being ignorant or arrogant or too self-centered. "Me, me, me, me .. It's all about me." NO IT ISN'T!

And I just don't have any respect for such people. Sorry.

****

And, yes. It's a problem ... some people having money & absolutely no manners. A huge problem. Money spent for wrong purposes.

****

Do you see the problem? Some people just don't get it. They don't see behind the surface. All they can see is a bling. Material things. Artifacts. Fake image. But they don't see the value behind. If the did they would have some respect to some stuff.

C'mon ... many people even collect art just because it's expensive & "cool". :t-banghea To brag around. :t-crazy2:

As said ... I see no respect. And that makes me very sad.

******

Yes, I admit: I also hate suits ... And feel much better in casual cloths. Feel more free. In a T-shirt & jeans etc. But ... Due to respect for other people I wear suits in some occasions. And not only dut to respect for people but also respect for occasion (protocol), heritage, history etc - and the people behind that. Sometimes it's just rude to be too self-centered, saying "I feel better in casual clothes ... F..k the suits". It's about dignity as well. And maturity ... Showing confidence of not being afraid to fit in, and respecting others. And sometimes you just have to put "me" in a second place.

I'm familiar with that phenomenon. :D Kind a very popular in the places of ours, isn't it. ;) Yet I still find it odd.

I agree with Tycoon. I wear a suit and tie to work 6 days a week so on Sunday, when I have the day off, I don't care about the occasion, nor the car I'm driving in, I want to wear something casual and comfortable. Judging someone by the clothes they wear is just shallow in my opinion.

Lol, i have no respect either when i see some dudes/rappers dressed in a car like they're dressed for stage, with all that bling-bling stuff wearing, that's crap, but i don't see anything wrong if i'm dressed like this in my car:

:D

LOL. Be careful not to attract USKOK attention ... wearing such outfit in the business world. :D;)

It's not about judging by the cloths per se. But in a context of a situation. As said: wearing sportswear in some situation is just disrespectful. Not saying that the person wearing it is a bad person .. but rather has been victim of his own misjudgment. Eg. due ignorance or arrogance. Or anything else. OK, some can't afford other cloths ... But such people usually don't drive Royces either or visiting art museums / galleries.

Believe me ... regarding personal freedoms I'm a first-row advocate. But there is a limit as well. Limited by the other people's feelings. Or special occasion. Etc. As said: to me a demonstration of "I don't care. I feel good this way. It's all about me,me, me ..." is pathetic & don't approve it. But unfortunately excessive individualism is a norm these days. And I'm afraid the curve will reach a peak sometimes, and will curve down. And that's what I fear the most: returning times of excessive collectivism.

Therefore some balance is needed. Peace. Roger, and out. :)

I'm my own boss and i wear whatever i like...;)

Wow here comes the snobs I guess. Just because you've got a Rolls Royce doesn't mean that you have to dress up like The Queen of England whenever you drive it. It's plain stupid and shallow and even successful people in London don't do it. I've seen people jumping out of Rollers and Lambo's here dressed incredibly stealthy just wearing jeans, sneakers and a t-shirt. I don't see the point in dressing up for a drive in your own car forcing someone to iron a shirt and polish your shoes just for that. IMO you're you imprisoning yourself in your car. And please spare me with all that heritage talk because the RR is just a product, especially the Ghost which share major components with the F01. There is nothing special about it, it's just a German product which purpose is to make a profit.

Call it snobbery if you like ... But in the end it's all about attitude & respect. And the good manners. Or a lack of them.

Substance (inside) vs. form (outside).

****

Yes, unfortunately today everything is a commodity. We live in a very vulgar era. Everything is cool, everything is for sale. Even human dignity.

IMO RR should have only leased their cars ... only to the people who deserve to drive a Rolls. And some people should have been banned from galleries & museums. Geez, some don't even understand what they observe there - they just know it's so "cool" - because they have been told so.

It's just so wrong ... Form, form, form ... Everything is just about form. Substance is completely secondary.

That's a very dangerous trend!

Could it be "Roger, and out" this time?

Would actually make for a fantastic topic in thebyte. I'm serious by the way, not at all invoking a feeling of off topic responses. I would be interested in discussing this matter more... :usa7uh:

Yep, it would be nice to move (not delete!) all these OT posts somewhere else ... within GCF or even in CZ.
