Yes, it is.

The First Ever Rolls-Royce Ghost Police Car Revealed in Sussex

Yes that Ghost Black Series was only for show though, doubt they would pay for that.

Agreed. A single black badge Ghost probably costs more than 50-75% of their fleet of Mondeos and 5 series' combined.

Joe and Jane taxpayer would be less than thrilled to hear that if it were the case.

Usually police gets one-off exotic police car as a donation by (a local) carmaker itself. For promotional purposes. .If local legislation allows such action.

Eg. Italian police - their highway patrol unit - regularly gets Lambos. Ok, some Gulf countries eventually do buy limited volume of such cars for the police fleet. But that's more an exception than a rule.

So, this Ghost BB for the Sussex police could be a gift by Rolls-Royce (located in Goodwood, West Sussex) , I guess.

It's essentially a loaner from the press fleet. It'll probably have had the retroreflective film stripped off it by now and be back in the car park at the factory.

When is it due a facelifted. The new Phantom and Continental GT has made it look a bit dated now.

Yes, the new CGT has certainly taken (sub Phantom and Mulsanne) interior details to a higher level.
This is essentially a facelifted model.

I guess we'll see a successor some time around 2020.

That is a god awful color if there ever was one. Extremely tacky.

I don't think the lighting helps. It's funny how tastes differ depending on the market. I'd suggest this isn't a colour combination you'd see often in Western markets.

Looks like they gave it the most minor 2nd facelift ever:View attachment 426246View attachment 426245 View attachment 426244
Actually when you look at them back to back, the face lift is more noticeable than first glance. The awkward extension of the front grill to the front bumper is now far better resolved, the front grill now appears to "flow through" the bumper and into the bottom air intake. The front grill itself is new, with a smoother more dynamic look to it.

Beautiful, but completely outdated by the Phantom and Dawn. It's time for a new one. When will that be?
M
The interior is really showing its age, I never liked the styling of the dashboard, it still seems too disjointed.
