I believe this project has most likely been cancelled. With all due respect, while Mr. Mate Rimac is visionary and courageous, his corporate management capabilities leave much to be desired. For a company that is not particularly large in scale, the number of projects it is advancing simultaneously is simply excessive. Rather than devoting energy to developing those whimsical all-electric single-seater racing cars, it would be better to concentrate resources on the Bugatti Tourblillon – this is the key that will determine the future rise or fall of Rimac.

We have already seen that among electric vehicles manufactured in China, whether it is the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, which stunned the market with its outstanding cost performance last year, or the highly anticipated Yangwang U9 this year, their performance has come infinitely close to or even surpassed that of Rimac's models. BYD has even unveiled heavyweight technologies: 30C-rate LFP battery, 1200V High-Voltage EV Platform, and a top speed approaching 500 km/h. This series of breakthroughs has not only shaken Rimac's industry position but also impacted Bugatti's market structure.

Against this backdrop, the Volkswagen Group must re-examine Bugatti's brand positioning and, following its past strategy, invest substantial resources again to fully support the technological research and development as well as product iteration of both Bugatti and Rimac.

Rather than devoting energy to developing those whimsical all-electric single-seater racing cars, it would be better to concentrate resources on the Bugatti Tourblillon – this is the key that will determine the future rise or fall of Rimac.

The reality is much more boring than that. Rimac makes Bugatti financially valiable. Today, there are billions of euros in grants, tax breaks, government-backed loans, and concessions avaiable for businesses that are working on: Electric propultions, alternative transport, battery technology and renewable energy.

All of which would not be avaiable to Mate if Rimac didn't exist or if the Turbillion was ICE only.
