3 Series (G50) [Spy shots] 2027 BMW 3 Series (G50)

The BMW G50 is the eighth generation of the BMW 3 Series range. Body styles: G50 (sedan), G51 (wagon/touring), NA0 (i3 sedan), and G58 (long-wheelbase). Inspired by BMW's Vision Neue Klasse concept, it will be offered with both internal combustion and purely electric powertrains, though on different platforms. Predecessor: G20 3 Series. Production: 2026-

I'm curious, how G50 (and G84) will finally turn out.

Wether they will feel like an afterthought/lazy refresh from the outgoing G2x/G8x ... which are rather handicapped by even stricter regulations ... which can't get effectively countered, because G50 won't be a completely new architecture.

... or they feel like a finely aged wine, where everything has been tuned/adjusted perfectly.

The quad exhausts give the 3er a look that the i3 rear bumper simply cannot match.

I hope the grille is also different vs the i3. Ideally open.

The second, of course.

Particularly, because nothing new or better has come out since the launch of the G20. Every new ICE car is a rehash of an older version. But that's not to say BMW isn't perfecting a winning formula, because they are. Same with the upcoming X5. And really you wouldn't say the current 7er is based off the previous version, but it is.

Quad exhaust on a non M looks ridiculous, but that might just be me.

You dinosaur :p (same for me ... we are a dying breed) ... next generation won't have any clue, what these weird sticks are used for. But also funny, how such basically ugly, but needed things of the ICE age like exhausts/exhaust-tipps had been transformed into design elements, which we are now concerned in/praise for its looks!

The G20 chassis is still the most competent chassis on sale today in it's segment. A full exterior sheetmetal change and interior change is more than enough.

I'm more concerned about interior quality declining, hopefully they use alternative materials instead of resorting to harder plastics on some components.

Personally I loved the chunky trapezoid look of the M340i exhaust tips

But I guess BMW saw all the broccoli-head m340i kids swapping them out for quad tips and decided they'll just switch to that style.

I still love this the most:

Double exhaust on the left. This is classic BMW for me.

Absolutely. There will be nothing that even compares. New exterior, new interior and fully new UI. WHAM BAM.
