Emira [Report] Lotus Emira (type 131)

The Lotus Emira (codenamed "Type 131") is a sports car manufactured by the Lotus Cars. It is intended to be the firm's final vehicle powered by an internal combustion engine.
The award for the best choice of colour on the Emira goes to Harry. It's brought out the beauty in this car in my eyes.
Hmm. In that colour the Emira too much like a beige blazer. It's unsure if it's casual or formal. However, Harry has countless of cars and has the liberty to choose a left field spec.

Wow. 1,000 miles already. Harry is embarrassing them youngins who take their emiras to car meets, just to brag about specs and low mileage.

I know right? Harry just gets on with it!

The Lotus Emira is one of my favourite baby sports cars!🙂

After 6 months delay a close friend of mine will take delivery before Christmas. Will report back after I have had a ride. Terrible period for delivery compared with June. Current temperature in the UK is 2-3 degrees. Bambi on ice for RWD cars.

Oh I see there's been trials and tribulations with production. Yeah definitely let us know! As for the weather, oh I absolutely agree we're sat somewhere along the M62!🙂

Winter tires and alls good.

Mega review by Harry. This is how a car should be treated from the word go, rather than be flipped with delivery mileage.

What is there not to love about the Emira:
  • Supercar styling
  • Manual gearbox
  • 3.5L V6 that doesn't need aftermarket exhaust
  • Decent creature comforts
Cars like this one are rarely built. Alpine A110 and GR86 is great but compromise on power. Vantage, SL and F-Type pack power but lean more towards a GT. Supra and 718 are difficult to fault but the Lotus is simply a breath a fresh air.

Chris Harris also stated this when he did review it on recent TG.

I love Tony. His voice is refreshing as he doesn’t have relationships with car brands. He basically says whatever he likes.

Although I admire the Emira, its debut is 3-5 years too late. Why didn’t the Evora looks like this?

It’s like a British equivalent to the new Supra. A left field choice for those who want something out of the ordinary And are willing to pay a premium for it.

With the yellow body colour the silver wheels look wrong, dark grey or black would look much better.

It's nice. I mean it's all preferences. I know yellow is important to Lotus, Mustard from memory they call one of the shades, that is. But that red colour with silver above looks good above too.🙂

Lotus has quickly become UK's most interesting brand IMO.

Its design looks just better than McLaren and Aston right now.
