We have many threads with what "your dream garage" would look like,
"Favorite car of all times" and "what to buy/own" if you had alot of cash.
THIS TIME I want to look at the pockets with the income of a "normal" person.
This mean what you really can afford ...
Still I don't want to hear about what you guys can buy cause no one here want's to hear about: Vw Caddy, Toy Aven and Ford Ka ++. :D

But if you are able of renting a any car you want..
- What would it be ?
- Why ?
- Time of the year ?
- What is the right "price tag" ?
- What wold you use the car for ?

Would you go for a BIG SHOT as the Carrera GT for a day or two costing you half of your salary that particulair month or would you try a more "relaxing car" as the Audi R8 also with less costs ?
Maybe you wouldn't rent a car ??!

Try to be a bit realistic then ;)

Maybe it sounds a bit strange - but I wouldn't want to rent such a car.
It's definitely great to drive such a powerful, beautiful or/and exotic car, but this will be only for a week, a day or maybe just a few hours. I don't really think, that this is a good value.
Personally, I would be absolutely disappointed after such a day/week, because I know, that it was (supposably) the only time, that I drove such a car.

I don't thinks it's such a good idea to rent a sportscar for a short period of time. Reasons:

1. Such a powerfull car will cost a lot. I mean A LOT. A simple Daewoo Matiz costs almost 50 a day. Imagine the cost of an M5. And even though i am a car fan, there is no way i would spend so much money just to drive a fast car in normal conditions. Give me a sportscar and a track, and i may say yes... Otherwise NO

2. If you give me a fast car i will get addicted after no more than half an hour. Power is addictive. A lot of power is even more addictive. And i would hate to go back to my bloody Clio after a week with >500hp car

3. I hate to drive a car that is not mine. Not even leasing not bought with a bank loan. No nothing. I want my car to be bought with plain cash and belong 100% to me. I don't want to have a headache it's time i have an accident (...) or just scratch a bumper, because i have to explain to the owner why...

Lamborghini Murcielago "Lp-640" Roadster

- What would it be ? The most-beautiful car ever built on this planet :icondrool
- Why ? She's my love at first-sight & it's a machine to live with :t-drive:
- Time of the year ? Having her with me, I'll be up 24/7 :eusa_danc
- What is the right "price tag" ? With money in the pocket, who cares
- What wold you use the car for ? To turn heads while rolling through down-town & cruising on highways :usa7uh:

- What would it be ? M3.
- Why ? Just love it.
- Time of the year ? Except winter...
- What is the right "price tag" ? It's quite cheap, isn't it?
- What would you use the car for ? Going to school, LOOOL :usa7uh: <--really!

Funny, I was just discussing this over the weekend (renting an exotic car). My birthday is coming up, and I was thinking about doing this, possibly for just one full day, or an M3 for the weekend :).

I used to look into this alot, and I wanted to rent an M3, and have an exhilarating test drive weekend with one.

Some of the costs to rent for some of these vehicles is not worth it to me, unless I was a millionaire.

To answer the question(s), I would rent an M3, and if the funds permitted, a Bentley GT Continental. I would rent only in the summer time. I wouldn't want to spend more than $4,000 TOTAL, which would make the Bentley rental only a day I suppose. I'd rent it as a birthday present to me, and as you guessed, make a whole day out of it: joyriding, running all my errands, going shopping, lunch and dinner, and going dance hopping with the girls for the night.
