I just realized. The E63 Final Edition. This must mean the death of E63 in general, right?

The last 3 "Final Edition" Mercedes-Benzes:
S65
SLC
SLS

They were all the final models and were not replaced by direct models.

Two other examples:
CLS shooting brake Final Edition - the end for that model
SL Final Edition (R129) - the end only for the rear seats for a long time ;)

I really hope this is not the case with the E63, that would be tragic as its one of the star cars in AMG line up.

Regarding the two pieces belt line, yes it has been used by Audi recently, but I think during the press release, Mercedes will pull this card out of their sleeve:

Yeah, that would be a nice straw.

Very seriously doubt it. Next E63 is a hybrid, the Final Edition is signaling the end of the non-hybrid E63. They’re not just going to cede this segment to the M5 and the E63 needs similar power output which means V8. There are some rumors of an I6 but I don’t believe it.

I think it could boil down to the following scenario:
- The six-cylinders are offered as E450 and E500, analogous to the S-Class, without all the AMG ruckus.
- The E53 will be dropped.
- The E63 gets the 2-liter 4-cylinder analogous to the C-Class, but with a little more power.

I’m fine with everything, as long as a full fat I6 cylinder diesel is coming, with 650-700 Nm torque and 300+ hp.

An E500 with the current I6 from the S500 and 53 models should be the up level car from whatever the base 4- cylinder is. It’s time to upgrade E450 owners.

An E55 V8 would be the sweetest spot.

let's hope that from tomorrow since it will be December there will be new losses especially in the rear

Zitat: Mehr als 2-Liter-Hubraum und vier Zylinder wird die Baureihe 214 auf der Verbrennerseite nicht zu bieten haben.
Quote: The 214 series will not have more than 2 liters displacement and four cylinders on the combustion side.

related to the E63

great - even the article says " In any case, the general enthusiasm about the Mercedes downsizing strategy in the social media is limited."..... then again an F1 engine is only 1.6 litres....

If true, forget Mercedes. BMW and Genesis for me in this segment.

Quote: "That's not to say the twin-turbocharged V8 will go away as it did with the new C63 S E Performance. But if it does stick around, it will almost certainly utilize electric motors."

Now what is the truth? :)

And 6 cylinders
Quote: "However, AMG fans will have to get used to the M 139 four-cylinder engines in the 53 and 63 versions, which, as a performance plug-in hybrid, will bring over 600 hp to the starting line."

So the 6 cylinders are only for the non-AMG
