@Car Nut I think the black is not plastic but black paint from the car. The quality of the photo is not the best, we have to wait for better (official?) photos.
@fortuner These are the doors of the extended Chinese version.
Yeah, and you can see that the bumper isn’t really painted, it appears to have only some sort of white base-coat.
If we presume that these leaks are from the same location, then the black grille surround and black doors point to the actual color of the vehicle in question, and hence no EQ-like grille surround.

Maybe that is the "taxi" screen? 🤔

Since it has a very rough surface it looks like either protection or it’s just unpainted.

MB probably needs to stop bringing and keeping test cars in Asia late in the development cycle. Seems with each new model their goal to keep things a secret gets foiled by a distributor, importer, or supplier with partial or whole leaks.

I think they are test cars that have served their purpose and were sold and exported to scrap dealers in Asia. Mercedes Germany has most probably out-sourced this to a third-party and the people there looked very sloppy with their work (I bet the contract was award on a lowest cost basis, and like they said, you get what you paid for).

The same happened to the current S-Class when it was launched and a scrapped test-car turned up in a the scrapyard in Hongkong. The scrapyard proprietor didn't know what it was and posted photos of the car online.

Is the white stuff the protection or part of the design?

My real fear at the moment is indeed, that the front-end is divided into three parts.
So, the middle part surrounding the grille could be either black or in the colour of the car.

Additionally, it's very sad to see again these micro switches below the center screen, which are in A and S so cheapish and noisy and the total opposite to be elegant, worthy and well-usable.

Okay guys I'll explain to you what it is ;)

This is neither a body protection part nor a body part.
It is one of the parts "glued" to the bodywork to change (confuse) the shape of the bodywork when the test cars are driven covered with camouflage film.

here is an example:

The wavy headlights reminds me of 2GC
I really don’t like to see Mercedes go back to this molten-headlight design of yesteryear. There several examples of Mercedes models where either the headlights or the rear lights look like they’ve spent too much time in the sun and have partially melted as a consequence. The new E class looks exactly like that

I don’t know what you’re going on about. That picture clearly shows the bumper and not some side stripes. And the bumper is white simply because it isn’t painted.

Haha the guy who registered on this forum 20 minutes ago and wrote his first message is going to lecture me :D

I'm not surprised you don't know what I mean. You don't understand because you clearly have no idea about this business!
Unless you are an employee of Mercedes-Benz Group AG. And you got a bit pissed off at my post there.

I hope this will not be the case.
Everyone has the right to like/love the car brand they want. Why fight at all costs over which make/model is better ? RESPECT FOR EVERYONE. :wthumb:

Foam pieces under the camouflage wrap film, to disguise the final bodywork lines/shape... (... a little, at least...) ...

2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Drops All Camo by Virtual Means to Reveal Next-Gen Looks

Harking all the way back to 1953, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class could easily be considered almost seven decades old. Technically, though, this nameplate’s story began a ‘little’ later.

The first-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class got the moniker back in 1993 when the W124 iteration got treated to the iconic nameplate. Another four iterations have since passed, with the latest (W213) coming out to wow the mid-size luxury party back in 2016. As such, there is no surprise that Mercedes-Benz is intensely developing an all-new generation, right?

Actually, the upcoming next installment of the executive sedan is – as always with popular models – one of the worst-kept secrets of the 2022 fall season. Just this month we have seen a prototype that dropped almost all camouflage around the body, save for parts of the front and rear. Then, mere days ago, a leaked 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class body dressed in white and chrome smiled at us from beneath a tarp while parts of the interior also revealed the next-gen goodies.

Naturally, all these leaks and spied prototypes have enticed the virtual automotive artist’ world to produce their unofficial take on the matter. As such, here is also the pixel master better known as Carbizzy on his YouTube channel, who has imagined the unofficial looks of the upcoming sixth E-Class iteration. As always, this informal presentation starts with a little teaser but then everything quickly lights up to reveal the traditional front and rear three-quarters POVs.

Even better, the CGI expert also plays a little with an unofficial color palette reel, imagining how the potential 2024 E-Class would look like when splashed with a series of ritzy paintjobs. As always, take all this with a grain of salt – even though Mercedes-Benz is not straying too far away from these CGIs, based on the spied prototypes and leaked body parts.
