Is there an official presentation date, which will be december?

The E-class in disguise reminds me so much of the covered up W223 before it was launched. Its a pity about those tiny alloys, but this probably wont be production wheels.

This is going to be a very elegant E-class.

The dash look a mix of EQS & S-Class which IMO is good.

I don't know about this. Maybe it will look better in the full reveal. So far, with or without the black from around the grille, it seems rather safe and underwhelming.

- don't care for the faux 4-headlight look. Ought to keep it smooth.
- loving those HVAC vents. Not like the afterthought treatment seen in the S-Class.
- Center console has wood trim. It also looks like the storage compartment hood also has a wood finish, so perhaps we will see that be available in the S-Class in the near future?

I am so glad this E-class doesn't use shiny black piano plastic for the center console and uses full wood. The lower small row of buttons is looking at awkward angle to press on the fingerprint recognition pad. The seats look nicely stitched and padded and could be very comfortable.

It seems the dashboard tops that one of the S. Center console available in wood in stead of that scratch sensitive very cheap looking glossy black plastic. The whole design is more fluid than that of the S. I also see soft cushions on the headrests.
Edit: look at that door opening, could it be this foto was made in the factory? If you ask me, the door has yet to be assembled to the car.

Some details look very interesting indeed, like the reinterpretation of the classic quad-eyed fascia of the W210/W211. It remains to be seen if it really works IRL, so further judgement when better pics are available. The position of the comand screen is still problematic, but at least they solved the orientation into more of 16:9 than the 4:3.

Anyway, it would have been better to evolve the design of the screens from the previous generation, integrated into a single, large slab, which would have offered a perfect positioning for all the displays. And it would have less felt like an after-thought, with the current displays looking a bit as if they were fitted in a rush.

Certainly, the W214 will raise up the bar, so the competition with the G60 5er will be even fiercer.

I'm on the opposite opinion - since it is a touchscreen it should be closer to the driver for better ergonomics. The previous solution looks better integrated but is from the times when those were only screens without the touch function.

Mercedes' thinking is clearly ahead of BMW's when it comes to ergonomic touchscreen use. The BMW curved widescreen approach is literally a stretch from an ergonomic perspective. It may not be as aesthetically attractive (that's entirely subjective anyway) but there's no question that it's functionally superior in the Merc.

the headlights remind me of the BMW 3 series of a few years ago, do you remember?
