As an owner of a W213 I am very excited and eager to know how this W214 will look like so every little teaser or leak is something to look forward to. But of course if they just reveal the car it will be the cherry on the cake.

So once again for this generation, like the last - the S-Class is the voice of reason for interpreting the current design language without looking derivative or weird.

I understand why BMW uses (although failingly) the black plastic surface on the 7er's front end: to dilute its visual bulk. However, I cannot understand its appearance in the E-class since it is an ICE model, and there is no frontal visual bulk to begin with. I hope Mercedes is not under the impression (as it is with its interior designs) that customers find shiny black plastic surfaces luxurious or futuristic--assuming that we end up with something as undesirable as the above renderings.

I think the objective it to harmonise the design language of ice and eq models.
