Future Cars: Peugeot Brings Back Sexiness With New 508 Sedan

Is the current 508 selling at all? I haven't seen one on the road in a long time, in fact I haven't seen any Peugeot on the road in a while.

In the Netherlands Peugeot is selling quite well. Especially the smaller cars, like 208 and 308. The 508 is aging now, but in the early days of it’s carreer, it sold rather well. I see at least a 508 per day... (for what it’s worth).
In Germany the 508 isn’t a seller, too much local competitors like Passat.

You live in Australia, move to Europe they are pretty common.

It's a pity GM didn't throw in Holden when they sold Opel to PSA, this would have made a nicer Commodore than the one we got. I also wonder what GM will replace the Commodore with when PSA stop building the GM platformed Insignia and transition it over to the PSA platform, with Holden continue to source from Europe or will the take whatever shit the US market has??

Well Peugeot used to be a common sight on our roads, but now everyone drives a C class or a 3 series.

Holden hasn't said anything about that yet since they are still taking their time to launch the new "Commodore".

Interesting info I gathered from articles that talked about the PSA - Opel merger:
Apparently, PSA under CEO Carlos Tavares had much better manufacturing than Opel resulting in faster, more efficient production with higher margins. The development of PSA was also better in terms of timing and resource management. Opel lost a lot of money on the Ampera and the Ampera E was canned immediately by Tavares. Opel was also plagued by management disagreements. The Insignia, for example, was supposed to have the keyless open/close as an OPT as decided by Neumann. However, the head of product just integrated it as standard, therefore "losing" margin on the car.

In short, PSA is a better manufacturer than the average Joe outside of France assumes.

It's very French. But will the exterior match the interior for Avantgardeness? Or will it be typical euro D-segment boring?

This could be the most surprisingly good car of the year. Peugeot are making a comeback to it's former glory as brand with design ambition.

For too long Peugeot and Citroen have produced jawdropping concepts which no production car equivalent. However the Peugeot 3008 not only looks fantastic but has scored fantastic reviews.

Color me excited about the 508!

Peugeot

Peugeot is a French brand of automobiles owned by Stellantis. Founded in 1810, Peugeot is regarded as the oldest car company in the world. On 20 November 1858, Émile Peugeot applied for the lion trademark. Armand Peugeot (1849-1915) built the company's first car steam tricycle. They joined forces with Léon Serpollet in 1886; this was followed in 1890 by an internal combustion car with a Panhard-Daimler engine.
