XC60 2017 Volvo XC60 [renders]

The Volvo XC60 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured and marketed by Volvo Cars since 2008. The XC60 is part of Volvo's 60 Series of automobiles, along with the S60, S60 Cross Country, V60, and V60 Cross Country. The first generation model introduced a new style for the 60 Series models. Along with the rest of the line-up, the first-generation XC60 was refreshed in 2013. Similarly, the second-generation model, released in 2017, is the first in the series. The car was named Car of the Year Japan for 2017–2018.

The 60 cars are when the true test for volume begins. It will be interesting to see if that distinctive Swedisness the modern Volvo's have is carried over to more accessible volume models.

You've said this three times in this topic, I think we got it the second time.

I know they have already had dealer previews, the Volvo dealer across the road from my work said it's pretty much a scaled down XC90, it bigger than the current car, both inside and out and is very much a premium product, you won't feel shortchanged stepping from a 90 series car to a 60 series car.

Really have the feeling this car's going to be a looker; which is good news, as the outgoing model has been a bit too long in the tooth

Indeed it will, but Volvo has already managed to change public's perception for the brand. Volvo is not a brand for near-retirement academics and plain old boring people any more, it's a youthful brand now!

Volvo cars are bought by old people for the most part.. And if they're not old, they are bought by the typical 'family with a dog' types.

But it is slightly changing indeed. The new XC60, S60 and V60 will help a lot, for the lease drivers.
The new XC60 looks excellent already, from what I can see.

Looks like the car is getting a normal shutline for the hood too? Or do I only want to see that??

What an absolute load of codswallop. You can look this up for yourself, the average Volvo buyer in the US (Volvos biggest market) is young, upwardly mobile, university educated and somewhat wealthy, they are also active and want to be seen as an individuals. The Scandinavian design ideal appeals to these people more than the older buyers who head to the German showrooms.

It looks like you are right.

Awesome indeed. Funny thing is, Volvo 'invented' this grille on modern cars. The S80 had it first. BMW quickly copied them for the whole Fxx line minus the X3/5. Which was just a nightmare beyond words.
