Good to see they seem to retain the iDrive controller as I was a bit concerned following the presentation of 2AT
Exactly, good thing that it was only a mirage dedicated only to the customer rank of the AT, which is quite anecdotal and the result of deep analysis.
That customer goes for the Touch and doesn't care about the rest? will it be for youth?

In any case, because of that customer of the AT and the chips, those who buy M4 will not have a touch screen, and that of the ATs will, in addition to dual clutch :D

It looks like Mercedes and Tesla have been exchanging ideas for a long time, The column stalks and gearshift in the 2012 Tesla Model S look like those from the Mercedes older line up.

That’s not a “looks like” situation, that’s actual Mercedes switchgear. This occurred around the time Mercedes had some money invested in Tesla.

It has that same heavy look in the mid-section that the Ghost has.

Are you talking about the rear fender area? Because I see a lot of body work above the rear wheel 4er coupe. Though I am hoping the camo on the rear door window is playing a trick on me peepers.

No. Middle section. The doors area and now I can’t unsee what you just said either. Not good so far.

The front and rear lights are stretching a lot more into the bodywork than the previous 5 models (except perhaps the E60). There are some familiar vibes with the E60 with this stretching. Also reminds me a little of the Mazda 6.

Not sure this has been posted already. A good look at the new steering wheel. It does look quite stylish but also looks like BMW is following VW and Mercedes with the use of capacitive steering wheel buttons.

I drive roller still been used and also what looks like a small toggle type gearshift (ala Porsche and VW).

Same steering wheel with perforated bottom spoke as in the M Sport 2er AT, but flat-bottomed -- BMW finally succumbs to the trend. It remains to be seen which future/LCI M Sport/M Performance/M models in the lineup will be getting which version.

The Braun toggle.

iDrive button/roller (or whatever it's called) (y)
Mercedes-Benz is going to lose customers to BMW in the E and S segment, only because of this feature. Mark my words...

I wouldn't be surprised Mick cause BMW is adapting some Mercedes-like controls etc. in their new models. The twin-screen together with a roller (familiar with W213 E-class Pre-FL and W222 owners) and even the split center armrest and electric seat controls on the doors will make Mercedes drivers feel at home.

BMW moving the seat control unit into the doors MB-style is a wise move of them.

The E12 had a very sleek profile and amazing how compact it now looks compared to the upcoming G60.

4.62m long compared to approx 5m for the G60.

I can still recall that the E12 tended to "polarize" upon its' presentation in the late summer of 1972 (right around the time of the opening of the Olympic Games in Munich). There was quite a bit of promotional brouhaha not only courtesy of BMW, but also on the part of the city of Munich itself. The new 5er, the fancy, modern Olympic Village, Munich's new and highly acclaimed subway network...all promoted to present a "young, cosmopolitan and dynamic face". As for the E12, there were some reservations regarding the cars' "overly upright, tall stature" and the marked downwards slope of the boot. Still, it did not take long before unit sales began to steadily increase and render the E12 a very successful car for BMW.

I think the G60 M5 will be a twin-turbo V8 plug-in hybrid with more than 750 hp and all-wheel-drive. In fact, I don't think BMW M will ever make another RWD car again.
