  • E12 style sloping trunk lid
  • E28/E34/E39 style shark nose
  • E60 style expressive aggressive headlights expanding sideways
  • F10/G30 style generous size, quite plump volumes, and classic V-taper rear fascia
  • Yet E39 style feeling of overall compactness despite the large size due to the slightly taller and arched body.

You have to be a good chef to mix all that and make it taste good

Looks like BMW has been adopted and borrowed the aesthetics of handsomeness, stylishness, seductiveness, sexiness and sassiness from each past generation of the 5 Series family.

Evolution and Revolution.

To all this, add an impeccable implementation of all the ingredients in a new age 2023 format.

Just purely a great-grandson of the sassy and controversial E60 (2003 towards 2023, 20 years age differences).

I see much more E39 than E60, especially in side profile. Maybe the lights, however it is a little soon to draw too many conclusions.

With the XM I can understand it or it doesn't matter much, but what are the advantages of putting a hybrid drivetrain on the new M5? I understand that they are like 200 extra kilos, or am I wrong?....,

if there is going to be a i5 "60" or "70" (like the i7 i guess), with 660 hp that will weigh like 8,000 kilos too, couldn't they extract the 750 hp from the V8 just to keep the weight regulated in the last ICE M5 ?, is it a matter of consumption, emissions or ?

The title: M70 on i5 would be an interesting set up.

According to a Future BMW model information site, the G60 Plug-in Hybrid variants the are being shown/written: 530e, 550e and M560e. I wonder if the 530e is going to be renamed and upgraded to a 540e by the end once it has been released just like 735d to 740d. Or BMW is going to provide a proper 540e that is positioned and located between the entry level 530e and the upscale 550e.

The fourth image (with charging port) is truly giving me a throwback to the E60.

It is very interesting what we perceive when looking at these mules with all their cladding and camouflage. I still see E39, but maybe that is wishful thinking.
Those old school flush door handles are truly the rebirth of E39.

The E39 has a more "coupe-like" profile and a more vertical front bumper grill compared with the E60. And that's what I am sensing this new car will also have. I did own both an E39 and multiple E60's and I much preferred the E39. Size and styling wise I thought it was near perfect. With every model getting larger with each iteration, the current 3er is probably close to E39 size now.
