EQE [Renders] 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQE


The Mercedes-Benz EQE (V295) is a battery electric executive car produced by Mercedes-Benz Group. It is part of the EQ family, and was presented at the Munich Motor Show 2021.
All Mercedes had to do is price them better, better range, quality and looks. They would have been flying off the shelf.

If the Taycan proves anything, it's that if the car is desirable enough in terms of design and finish, people will overlook a mediocre range. It looks, feels and drives like a Porsche. The EQ's do not look or feel like Mercedes.

Taycan was a flipper car. Many of the buyers were flippers , especially in the pandemic times.

That is why there are so many of them available for sale right now.

So , I honestly don't know how many cars were sold really to an end user , and how many were speculative....

According to Ola (yes, he's still there), the next generation of electric vehicles will change that significantly. Hopefully, legions of M-B customers won't be humming the Who's "We Won't Get Fooled Again".

Ola blows a lot of hot air IMO and the information coming out of MB and industry speculation has been all over the place. Lets see if he delivers, but I think he's more concerned about saving €5 Euro on a door card than surface and tactile quality.

If they were that acutely aware or concerned about the issue, these build and finish deficiencies would be addressed with the MY updates or FL's. Some aspects of the EQE's, the C, the E coupe etc. are just pathetic and could be easily rectified.
 
Guess the present one will have a short product life. Never known MB to do this before.

Not unlike the EQE, unsuccessful in terms of consumer acceptance and unit sales. Innovative for their time, but too far ahead of their time. In addition, the transition of the German economy into a wartime economy was well under way towards the end of the H cars life cycles.
 
Some power upgrades are coming for the EQE probably due to the CLA been launched with higher power outputs.

Mercedes EQE and EQE SUV with more power

Up to 41 hp more power for EQE Sedan (V295) and EQE SUV (X294)

Mercedes is upgrading the EQE Sedan and EQE SUV to the ÄJ25-1.

The models (except AMG) will receive more power.

If the CLA 250+ EQ already has 272 hp, the EQE 300 can have more than just 245 hp.

Here are the new performance data:

The EQE 300 now produces 265 hp instead of 245 hp (+20 hp). The sprint to 100 km/h thus improves from 7.3s to 6.9s. The battery (90.5 kWh) and the range (664 km) remain unchanged.

The EQE 350+ now produces 320 hp instead of 292 hp (+28 hp). The sprint to 100 km/h improves from 6.5s to 6.1s! The range is unchanged at up to 693 km.

The EQE 350 4matic (320 hp) also receives the same power. The sprint time improves from 6.3s to 5.9s.

The EQE 500 4matic now has the same performance as the EQS 500 4matic. It thus increases from 408 hp to 449 hp. (+41 hp). The sprint is then done in 4.4s (previously 4.7s). The AMG EQE 43 (4.2s) will no longer be available in the future (it can no longer be ordered). Above that, there is the EQE 53 AMG 4matic+.

Finally seeing some representation of Mercedes EQ Sedans and SUVs on the roads here.

They do look much more attractive in on road settings than they do in photos.

Love or hate the design theme, but the EQ range does stand apart from the majority of EVs. Rather than abandon the theme all together, it appears they will continue to try and refine the aesthetic to improve appeal along with ongoing technical improvements which seem well worthwhile.
 
I perceive the devils in the details as being the culprits. The unfortunate shutlines of the clamshell hoods, the eyesore partitioning peg on the front door glass. the windscreen wash-liquid flaps on the front fenders. Eliminating these elements could provide a considerably more attractive aesthetic. IMHO, seemingly small yet actually significant niggles that diminish the qualities of an otherwise progressive design.

Can't really change the sheet metal on a dome, unfortunately.

The main gripe I have with the EQE styling is the fugly front black shiny grill and the pointed headlights. If they change the front and grill to be similar to the new E-class it would look a thousand times better.
