- the EQE is obviously stronger. I'd say hugely so. And, why do the windows of the frameless Model Y fall out,, in side impact test, but not the EQE's also frameless ones, that shatter? Surely better to be hit by a thousand small cubes of glass than a flying pane.

PS: 2 weeks ago I've had a Tesla accident . A car went into my door. Other car was done . Finished. My Tesla Model S is still driving ( wrecked door , front left wheel knuckle bent , but still can drive it ) .

so sample of one/anecdote, trumps evidence of eyes that EuroNCAP is susceptible like anything else in a world of fallible people to pressure.

99% of modern cars are safe, mini-tanks. That's not the issue. The EQE, done by BASt, is palpably ultra-safe. The Model Y is palpably less so, whatever CSI says. Side pole is a devastatingly hard test. EQE is astoundingly strong, that's obvious.

Tesla also gets bumped on Safety Assist. Its almost perfect score is not justified by the evidence, compared to the EQE, which performs at least as well.

It's politics - money, weak people. That's real life.

Since i was young i have always looked at Mercedes as safety was onething we experinced in our family with Mercedes my dad had 2 close calls one in a w123 230E one in a 126 500Se we were lucky he was in those cars. I had a experince 1997 in a w126 rilled it 6 times came out with two scratches.

So yes Mercedes and saferty to me is one and i always resoect them for the efforts in safety and Volvo to.

Yes many years ago ...1997 was a crazy year for me thank god i am still alive and thank Mercedes i was driving bery fast i wont repeat the speed here ..The ypung days i guess

... and now consider that the W126 would get absolutely slaughtered in all of the categories in the Euro NCAP safety rankings by every single one of the cars in the table Sunny posted. If Mercedes build quality of the 1980's is enough to convince you of their reputation for safety then their should be absolutely no worry about any of these cars if people actually take Euro NCAP ratings at face value.
