Hmm interesting design choice with the upside down rear lights on the X6, assuming this is the real design and no some trickery. It is almost if BMW took the 8er rear lights and flipped them upside down. Intriguing if true. The side design again seems to be also quite different from the X5. I guess this is warranted due to the large sales of the X6 around the world, that a new design only makes sense to differentiate the product more from the X5 and push it maybe more upmarket?

The front grill also seems more sportier and angular if one can call it that.

Intriguing indeed. Hopefully more camo will drop during winter testing.

Yep, that's our Hussein (al Attar).

I remember his automotive design baby steps, being a co-member of WorldCarFans Forum.

A great life story ... In 2005 then a high school student Hussein envisioned BMW X6 ... dreaming about studying transportation design @ Pforzheim University, and then sometimes working as a designer @ BMW ... and 10+ years later he was able to design a real one @ BMW!

Dreams coming 100% true for Hussein! He's living a true fairy tale!

Hmmm... I am really wondering where it went south for me personally. BMW needs me too after all, they just don't know it yet.

I'm sure you've seen it already. So you liked it a lot? Compare it to the previous and first gen please!

What I am personally worried about is the rear. If it's a giant dead blank space of nothingness like the X4 rear, it's not going to be hot.

It looks like a 6GT on stilts to me. Funny how everyone dislikes the GT (I like it) but raise the suspension and call it an X6 and everyone loves it.

Very far from everybody loving it.
Most people I know would pick the X5 over the X6 10 out of 10 times.

I don't think it really looks all that much like an 6er GT, but I see your point when you mention the X4 and 3er GT.

Is X6 a success?no,not at all except in China.When the first generation X6 was launched in 2007,it was coldly received in the rest of world outside China,Chinese bought almost half of total first generation X6 in the world,the same case goes to 5GT,Chinese saved the two projects of Bmw.But the demand of second generation X6 in China declined compared to first generation,the taste of Chinese buyers have changed.According to a Chinese auto media report,the sale ratio X5 to X6 of last generation was 2.5:1 changed to 6:1 current generation in Chinese market.
