I find it more elegant and forward thinking than clutter fest of controls in many luxury cars that have big old fashioned gear selectors with countless of buttons around it.

I don't mind it on the steering console. Personally I think the space on transmission tunnel is poorly used in SUVs.

Most SUV customers who live in urban areas just use drive/reverse and suspension in default settings. All the modes for various surfaces and engine modes largely go under-utilised.

Schrodinger's GLE. It's launch is alive nor dead until it happens.

These giant handles and elegance don't go together in my book. I suppose they were aiming for the rugged off road feeling, but it's not working.

Looks fine to me, simple and clean. I still have hesitations regarding the those vents flanking the gauge cluster screen. Otherwise, this may be the best interior that M-B has put forth for the M/GLE.
