Remember how accurate they are with MB, revealing their usually 2 years before the official debut. I think this could be the design that influences the next gen MB line up, like the current CLS did.

I hope this uglyness is just due to the renders being the first ones. But these come from Autobild, which uses to be a reliable source for MB renders.

@Wolfgang: this second vid is fake, isn't it? Why analyzing very basic design element in 1:4 models when the final car (obviously not even a model anymore) stands right beside you? :)

I think we should expect the first accurate renders to come when the first mules are spotted. Which should be this fall.

3rd gen already?! I remember the debut for the first like it was yesterday. Making me feel old.

I know the feeling. Whenever I see an original CLS drive by I just can't help thinking "Crikey! That thing is already ten years old?" It feels just like it was yesterday when I saw the first official pictures and I wasn't so sure of what the hell Mercedes was trying to do. But then I saw the Top Gear review with a black CLS 55 AMG and I was like :icondrool

If there is anything good in that render...its that there seems to be a good backwards step to the first generation CLS with its shallow glasshouse and lower sedan look and less complex design elements. A rightful return to simplicity.

The video is about the making of the second generation CLS. A number of the folks featured are pretty well known MB designers. Here's another one, the making of the Rising Car sculpture. :)
