A significant sign of transformation here in Germany: Young, gifted mechanical/electronic engineers and digital industry talents are increasingly seeking employment with companies such as Rheinmetall, Helsing, Diehl, KMW and Airbus. And now accompanying English, Mandarin-Chinese is becoming an increasingly important foreign language. The allure of finding employment in the domestic automotive industry appears to be fading considerably.

So who is behind closed doors in meetings regarding a purchase of Aston Martin’s road car division?

There are 3,283 people currently watching a live stream of an owl sleeping in its nest.
Well, I just saw a live stream of a minivan being launched. I don't know who's worse.

I'll tell you what needs to stop with immediate effect. Car reviewers making contrived videos where they trigger the voice activated assistant in the car by saying the manufacturer's name. Just turn it off instead of endlessly getting interrupted!! It wasn't funny the first time, and it's certainly not funny when you've seen it one hundred times!!

Yeah, I see the wildest stuff taking off from UK bases, and they all fly over Holland.....

Here in the UK they've had to put up screens and close roads around RAF Fairford because of all the plane spotters trying to photograph B-52s and B-1s.

I did see some suggestions that B-1s were avoiding EU airspace, instead flying from the UK down to Gibraltar over the Atlantic, and then along the Med.

Here in Germany, it is amazing just how much attention the stranded young sperm whale (the public service media has named him "Timmy" after the Baltic Sea location in which he first stranded, Timmendorf) has been capturing. Front headline news for the past almost week. "Timmy" initially stranded on a sandbank...managed to somehow free himself after human assistance efforts failed...then stranded again on another sandbank in the Wismar bay...freed himself once again...but keeps on returning to the shallower coastline full of sandbanks. Marine biologists strongly suspect a disturbed ecolocation sensory organ.

Hardly the boldest suspicion that so many folks are emphasizing with this animal because they have simply become so incredibly fatigued and frustrated with the other shit going down at home and in the world in general currently.

It’s a humpback whale by the way.

Oh yes...my bad. I got lost in translation. "Buckelwal" and not "Pottwal".

Incidentally, this morning's headlines say that "Timmy" has once again managed to free himself from a sandbank and has now ventured further from the Baltic Sea coastline.
