The Porsche 992 is the eighth generation of the Porsche 911 sports car, which was introduced at the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles on 27 November 2018.
My god... that will set a new Nordschleife record. Speed is insane. Under 6:40?!
Uhm, maybe. It would probably be a safe guess to say it's gonna be 10s faster than the GT3 - which would be 6:45 for the SA config. The AMG GT BS is 6:43.6. I can see it being faster than that with all that aero (and new Cup 2R tires if rumors are to be believed), although I am not sure it's gonna dip below 6:40. That would be quite the jump.

Frankly, this car serves many purposes
1) Track-day special
2) A car to show off to your mates and others
3) it's wailing engine can serve as a warning for an impending storm
4) A handy car for picnics with its built-in table
and so forth. Very practical indeed. :ROFLMAO:

I've been thinking about the Ring time and I think we're too optimistic. This car might have mighty aero but just not enough power to beat the GT2 RS - I'm guessing a 6:50 at max. Anyway, it is an absolute stunner.

Maybe, but each generation is always more efficiant. I expect fabric time of 6:40-6:45 short config.

if I am not mistaken, 991.2 GT3 RS MR already did a ~ 6:49 lap.

Yeah, that's quite interesting. Very likely a true Pirelli competitor to the Cup 2 R - and perhaps even the new leader! But then again I also heard that on the GT3RS they will also be introducing a new Porsche subvariant of the Cup 2 R - the N1 (all Porsche Cup 2 Rs up to this point have been the same "N0" generation they've been using since the 991.2 GT3RS/GT2RS). And it's quite possible that the N1 will be even faster than the N0 or the generic version.

Someone posted into an Italian Forum : 9500 rpm , 520 hp...Could be true?
Very unlikely. It's already something of a minor miracle that they have pistons as large as those (667cc) going 9000 RPM. I doubt they could have them go 9500 without a major decrease of reliability. Also, if the engine did go to 9500, I would expect more than 520hp. The last GT3RS had 520PS. This one will probably have something like 530PS. So the same max RPM as before.
