There is demand for them. For example. In the Middle East, it’s common to have big families or travel with extended family members. You can’t do that in an sclass. Corporates, celebrities or VIPs with entourage use a vclass as a mobile office. Travelling 6-9 people in the same car allows you to have meetings whilst on the road, and prevents one party from being late, held up or lost in another car.
Fo this the VLS is still too small.

The main problem of the current V-Class is the suspension, it’s relatively stiff compared to a Maybach or even a GLC with Airmatic.

With 2.6t it’s not too heavy with the 2L Diesel engine, and it’s already very quiet.

The ride is smooth enough for rides in city centres or too and from the airport. This wouldn't be the only car that the owners/passanger have access too.

It’s not unbearable tbh, but with 19“ you clearly feel the road.

On the other hand it’s stiff enough for mountain pass roads, and thanks to the short gearing, it drives surprisingly well.

I like it.
