I would have to go with the Mercedes. The Porsche is nice, but I can't see living with the hatchback look. Even though it's .5 seconds faster, the CLS is better looking exterior wise. Porsche is has a lead in the interior department though.

Tough choice here! I think I'll go with the Porsche despite the CLS being much better looking. The CLS is getting a bit old, can't wait to see the upcoming one.

I love the CLS and I like the Panamera. My vote goes to the benz.
I agree with HOH, I can't own a car with a hatchback look no matter how much faster it is.

Difficult poll…saw the Turbo version of the Panamera yesterday and hell, it was good looking! Even the rear was fantastic and the whole car looked mind-blowing (coloured in a brownish bronze tone)! Sat inside a Panamera at the dealer and also the interior was absolutely fantastic looking.
Nevertheless I always loved the CLS (exterior and interior). This is still one of my favourite Benzes especially with the AMG engines…so in the end my vote goes to the CLS…and it is much cheaper!! The perfect package…

Porsche bares the crown in this segment at the moment and it deserves that crown IMO. The next CLS and BMW CS could drastically change this segment, though Porsche did their homework on the Panamera in that it would be viewed the icon of this segment going forward and the 'one' to beat. The powertrain, suspension, handling and tech of the Porsche has the balance and finesse coupled to 'that' name PORSCHE;)

Wonder where is Sayyaaf:confused:

I've always been a fan of the CLS, but in no way do I see it as a peer to the Panamera.

Panamera wins hands down in my book.

I will give the edge in this to the Porsche simply because it's newer and the CLS is old and a replacement is almost here, which seems to look even better. I say put up this poll again when the new CLS arrives.

The numbers are really interesting here. I wonder if the AWD really plays a big role.

Of course it does. The Panamera Turbo has been clocked 0-60 well under 4 secs, its the torque of the turbo engine + AWD. No where near as much wheelspin as the CLS AMG. The Porsche just hooks up and flies...

I'll take the Merc in a heart-beat! I just can't forgive Porsche for putting such an ugly ass on a pretty face car! :eusa_doh:

Merc simply because the Porsche, like many sentiments expressed in this thread, is super ugly...
