Its sharper looking than the current amoeba light model, but its starting to lose its identity as a Ford and looks too much like the new Hyundai or Kia models. The front light details have a similar look to Audi and Volvo lights. Front overhang is huge!

Interior is disappointing, nothing stylish or smart looking at all to write about. The Golf VII, Audi A3 and new A-class have got nothing to worry about.

Yet the Brits won't get enough of it. A new Fiesta launched last year and it's the best selling car in the country by a huge margin. The fun-to-drive factor and good reputation greatly account for the popularity of the Fiesta and Focus.

The next Golf will destroy this in every respect.

Contrary to it being a hatchback, the Golf is actually a premium car. While it may lack the star quality of a C/A4/3, pricing is near like for like if specced identically. However, most volume for the Golf is made up of basic spec spewed onto lots and ready for immediate delivery.

Is it possible that all these manufacturers are getting the same off the shelf parts from the supplier so the screen and interior layout is all starting to look very similar.

Kia interior looks marginally the best and then the Hyundai, the Ford infotainment screen looks horrible in comparison to the other 2.

I must say the Golf VII is already 6 years old, but its interior design is still miles better than these 3.

Don't even mention it. Ford haven't pushed the boundaries here. The only silver lining is lowered weight and price.

Agreed. I don’t think it could look more generic than it does.

I presume that customer feedback has instructed them that a fresher and more mature design will charm more customers than the previous design language.

Perhaps Ford went a touch to safe but I don't mind it as I would easily buy the new Fiesta while I couldn't stomach the interior design of the predecessor.
