And the interior and the whole exterior. They ruined it...
The first ugly car of this new decade...![]()
Agreed...not one thing I like about this Focus. I imagine it shares the same platform as the Mazda 3....and have a look at how good looking the Mazda 3 is compared to this hash-job of a thing.
That 'ONE Ford' policy... isn't that what Ford tried to do with the Taurus about 10 years ago?![]()
There's something that I have always wondered: How can anyone be so blind to let something like this get to mass production?(And this goes to all the ugly cars out there)
LOL! Giannis, you're a legend. It's like you read my mind.Martin how do you find the new Focus?

I had a good look at this thread yesterday. Decided to wait for a while and let the pics digest before shooting my mouth off like I did when I plastered the Focus Mk2 for its sloped, almost fastback-like tailgate. I ended up being a fan of the Focus Mk2 and considered it a worthy rival to the Golf 5.
And, I eventually happened across a good drive in a Focus ST after a mate of mine bought one. Was I impressed - you betcha.
First things off my chest: I'm not a fan of the two vertical bars decending from the bonnet creases into the wide-mouth trapezoidal grill (a shape familiar from the Fiesta). I can't quite put my finger on it but it does just look "ready to date, quickly". It's too brash and aggressive for an "appliance car" a la Golf. I hate the distended leading edge of the tail-lights; it exacerbates an already fussy look to the rear quarters and is plain ugly in my eyes. It'll look awful on lighter coloured cars - like someone put a big red smudge on their schoolboy sketch by accident.
The saloon looks terrific on the other hand and both four and five door models have pleasing side profiles and well-resolved DLO geometry and proportion - a solid design achievement imo considering the cab-forward shape of the car. I like the shape of the D-pillar on the hatch, the muscular front wings (fenders) and the sporty looking tumblehome of the side glasshouse.
The dashboard. Oh dear, in true Ford Focus (and now Fiesta) style the instrument panel and steering boss is festooned with clunky-looking buttons and switches and paddles that can only come out of a Ford parts bin. It's very cluttered and busy in my opinion and I also feel that excessive use of piano-black (ebony-finish) can cheapen the look of the dash which clearly is contrary to the intention of its application.
Technologically, the Focus appears to build upon its pioneering chassis once more and the new range of engines and transmissions will no doubt ensure that the Focus Mk3 - dynamically speaking - is a serious contender once more in the segment.

Very, very, very, VERY ugly.
The interior in particular. Holy crap![]()
