M8 [Official] The New BMW M8 Coupé & Convertible (F91 & F92)

The BMW M8 is the high-performance version of the BMW 8 Series (G15) marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. Introduced in June 2019, the M8 was initially produced in the 2-door convertible (F91 model code) and 2-door coupe (F92 model code) body styles. A 4-door sedan (F93 model code, marketed as 'Gran Coupe') body style was added to the lineup in October 2019. The M8 is powered by the BMW S63 twin-turbocharged V8 engine shared with the BMW M5 (F90). Official website: BMW M
He spent a lot of time in the interior , this car has a lot of tech.

I always like watching his vids. This car is absolutely loaded with the latest and greatest in high tech and comfort. People should really watch this vid first, and then read the Sport Auto test to realise how insane it all really is.
I mean sure, the design is completely subjective, but my God, what a piece of engineering this car is. Just incredible beyond words.

I was referring to the 11.0 seconds that you posted for the M5.
Being .2s off claimed pace isn’t that bad.

They threw the kitchen sink and everything at it. It combines sports and comfort like no other car in that class. Looks are subjective but the M850i has been a show stopper everywhere I’ve seen it.

Very impressive laptime at the Sachsenring! Supertest will come in February.
No info on the tyres yet, if it's the stock P Zero, then wow! :)

So some of the cars that are seen in the begining of the video already have Sachsenring lap times, are they now re-tested ?

No, its just a driving impression. No measured data except for the previously set laptimes.

I didn't know the M8 Comp has P Zeros as standard. Is that correct?

Yes. That is correct. For a very long time ///M did partner with Michelin for all of its vehicle projects. So initially ///M vehicles were equipped with the corresponding Michelin tire along its market introduction. But then - silently - after some time, BMW typically also sourced a second tire supplier for M cars. In the recent past this was Continental (Conti SportContact tire series). So, when ordering a M, it was by chance, whether you got it delivered with Michelin or Conti (most of the time customers were praying for Michelin :p).

Now with the F90 development first time since years Pirelli was THE tire development partner! Funny: Now Michelin got the position as second source (with PS4S) ... so, it is again gambling whether you as a customer get your F9x equipped with a PZero or a PS4S. Tbh: I think performancewise both are on par...

I don't remember that M5 was ever tested on PS4S by Germans...The lap time of M5 vs GT63 and M5 vs Jaguar were all on P Zero.

^Nope, M5 is actually quicker with P Zeros than PS4S, at least at the Sachsenring. :)
P Zeros aren't actually bad when conditions are decents. I went on an F-Pace driving experience last and I was stunned by how well the tyres gripped when a racing driver was pushing the car to limits so high that the tyres were smoking afterwards.

BMW M's testdriver J. Weidinger did a 1:35.55 min lap at the Sachsenring during AutoBild Sportscars' Recordday Event. It was 1.2 seconds behind the time of the M5 testcar with P Zeros. :)

8 series is really growing on me more I see it. I just believe how small the back seat is, however. No way you can fit more than 2 passengers.

Which tests are these? Any links, scans?
Sorry for very very late response:

The latest Autocar is out....with roadtest of M8 Competition! Seems it is the convertible version that is tested, sadly. Anybody can confirm please?

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
