I think the G81 is the new E46. In 20 years it will be challengig to find good examples that haven't been tuned or have aftermarket parts! On the positive side, the lack of electric motors will make it easier to maintain and repair than the M5 touring.

Touring and first gen with the button HVAC will be the most sought after.

Saw this G81 driving past me a few week ago, in manhattan green metallic. The colour is subtle, distinctive and it show off the sharp lines and creases of the design.

Tuned E46? In what way other than an ECU tune or simple airbox/downpipe etc? That engine didn't leave much space for any other tuning back then, and going turbo/compressor was rare altogether.

Now the G80 I agree with that. Tuning potential is off the charts and very often done. But then again the engine is pretty much intended for exactly that unlike the NA E46 block.

Also spotted this rather eye catching G81 in frozen IOMG with the grey bi colour wheels and carbon exterior pack.

These M3 Tourings are popping up everywhere I go. The M3 in general are extremely popular in Sydney.

I have seen more G8X M3 in one day, than the 4 cylinder C63/C43 in a year.

Spotted another one over the weekend, a M3 CS Touring this time. One of 55 to be sold in Australia.

Yes indeed, according to my sales contacts at the MB dealership, the C63 is now available as a customer order only, meaning dealerships are not holding onto any new C63, unless they are "demo" or "pre owned" . The sales contact admitted that the AMG brand lost a lot of existing clients, who are moving to the M2 and M3.

Credit to BMW and M division for creating such an accomplished car.

It’s obvious, that don’t want a fast car with a small trunk and a Hoover sounding engine. Like the C63SE.

Would have sold like hot cakes, for sure outsell the convertible that they did bring over. Only reason they brought the G99 was cause the other brands sold competing vehicles in that class so it was a super safe bet.
