M5 [Official] The new BMW M5 CS

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. It is considered an iconic vehicle in the sports saloon category. The first M5 model was hand-built beginning in late 1984 on the E28 535i chassis with a modified engine from the M1 that made it the fastest production saloon at the time. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M
Great looking car but to expensive. In Germany it will cost 180400 euros. That's 50500 euros more than M5 competition.
There is no denying that the 70kg weight reduction, M4 seats, solid bushings and firmer suspension will enable the driver to push the car extremely hard in corners.

However I am puzzled over why it's equipped with P Zeros instead MPSS or Cup 2 tyres? :cwm1:

Market reception should be very interesting. Not only is the price high at £138,000 but the M5 is one of the steepest depreciation performance car that money can buy. A 18-24 month M5 Competition can be bought for £65,000 - down 40% from list price.

It will be interesting to see how performance in corners will compare with the new M4 and M3.

Is this the only available spec? It’s a bit busy with all those contrasting colors, greed paint, golden highlights, red calipers, yellow DRLs, hmmm....
Interior is dope though.
I tried to go on the German configurator... there was just one color available and it was not this green (was grey). I think the bronze goes well with the green color of this car, better than with the grey one.

totally overpriced, even no widebody rear, makes the Alfa Giulia QV GTAm a bargain, and for the money it would be my choice.

the rear seats though (same as M3 CRT E90) are perfection. such individual seats (as often seen in concept cars) must be standard for all so called premium/wannabe premium cars/suvs. you should have a Panamera to get them. anyway who fits 3 persons in the rear?

these seats (individual/buckets) should at least be optional on standard 5 series.

I'm with you on that one. Michelin's seem to offer a slight performance advantage over their Pirelli counterparts. Perhaps they are the other OEM tyres?
Hopefully track tyres will be an OEM option as they alone tend to add substantial improvements for track usage.

Good points. The same could be said about the M2 CS. It's a spec bump that should have been the M2 LCI.

According to the press release Metallic Brands Hatch Grey seems to be the only standard colour. Frozen BH Grey and the Green are Individual paints.

I really hate the colour pallet on offer, and I'd rather the copper accents were simply chrome, and the wheels were a different colour, but I have to say, I've warmed to it overall. Makes me a little more excited to see an M8 CS, which so far hasn't particularly excited me as an idea.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
