M5 [Official] The new BMW M5 CS

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. It is considered an iconic vehicle in the sports saloon category. The first M5 model was hand-built beginning in late 1984 on the E28 535i chassis with a modified engine from the M1 that made it the fastest production saloon at the time. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M

That's sonic speed blue, stop smoking bad shit... :D :D

If we compare what Gebhardt did with CS versions of M4 and M2, the difference was 10 and 9 seconds faster laptime on Nurburgring compared to standard versions.
Too many variants to note including but not limited to larger dimensions of the M5, where it's placed on track and momentum going into tighter corners. However, what's different here in comparison to the smaller CS siblings is a hefty weight reduction. This should make a notable difference

And as a start the normal M5 is almost light for what it is. The M5 CS will weigh less than 100 kg more than the M4 despite having a V8.

A pretty good demonstration of why taking stock price or market capitalisation isn't the greatest way to determine the performance of a company....

Today is the day that Hedge Funds are now in big trouble, they can be bankrupted by social media.
Bet the Technocracy have failed to understand that they have created a monster that they failed to control.
Go for Pharmaceutical stocks and crypto currencies. Or when social media companies go full Orwellian again.

The view of the rear seats in this video is absolutely spectacular.
Very innovative, it is one of the ideas that make you love the brand

Last BMW to have rear bucket seats was the M3CRT. Nice way to send off ice on the M5.

Looks really nice, I dig the individual bucket rear seats matching the front seats and the more aggressive bonnet. Even the gold wheels and green are a great match. The nicest M5 in modern times for sure. I think it would have looked even nicer if they added in flared or wider wheel arches, especially at the rear to make it look even more special. Also for the extra 50K they could have added more power than only 10PS.

That's not true.

The RS 5 Coupe is 30kg lighter than the M4 (G82), and it has 4WD. The figure quoted for the M4 is RWD.

It makes no sense to compare OEM data/claims with each other! It is even hard to compare different models/generations of the same OEM with each other! This is due to the fact, that rules, how to define the specification of the reference car to be weighted is intransparent and changes all the time (also influenced by regulations).
Fact is, that a current RS5 weighs about 1800kg (1799 kg in this evo test: https://www.evo.co.uk/group-tests/2...-mercedes-amg-c63-s-supertest-review/page/0/1)
And we have seen in the last BMW video, where they weighted F82 and manual G82 back to back, that the G82 in this spec (with carbon ceramics just like the RS5 in the evo test) was slightly below 1700kg! So manual RWD G82 about 100kg lighter than AWD RS5 ... with ZF8 speed, G82 would have been around 60kg lighter.

The OEM data was the one used in the graphic above, so that's what I'm responding to.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
