7 Series [Official] The New BMW 7 Series

The BMW 7 Series is a full-size top-of-the-line luxury sedan produced by BMW. Officially introduced in 1977, it is the successor to the E3 "New Six" sedan.
I agree, on first sight the 7er is pretty much like the X5, or even a 3er. But when you sit in one, and you see things like the door handles, the floating air vents, the LCD dials and the quality of materials, you soon realise it's something more special. :usa7uh:
The S/CL design is more individual and different from the rest, I'll give you that :)

Man you`ve really change to a much improved klier,
I`ll take your word for it. I can`t wait to see it in the metal.

You guys already know the newer car always answers a higher call to the competition.

F, Who really knows what Audi has up it`s sleeve!

and the 2013 S-Class will leap the competition again, (making the others look old).. it will never end..

Until eg. PAS, 5er, 6er hit the roads. :usa7uh::D

I´ve realised that BMW F10 5er has the same interior design with many of the F01 innovations, so I doubt about what will be the F01 exclusivity and different when F10 arrives.

Eni told us recently that the F10 interior will have many things in common with the F01 one. Actually all the future BMW interiors will have many things in common..

You know what? In fact, I prefer when the whole line-up shares a lot of interior parts. Of course, the upper models have a better finish, more nice stuff and so, but...

There was a time where you just knew you were in a Beemer, whatever model it was. Same with Audi, and Benz. They all looked, felt the same. In fact, even the design of the interior was very similar, not only the climate controls, steering wheel and various bits, even the design was highly similar. And I loved that. You loved a brand, you had your habits, you felt comfortable in every model of the brand, you were at home in every models.

Now, well, who could say the W204 and W221 are of the same maker, if you hide the blinker and cruise-control lever? Well I felt more comfortable when the W201, 124 and 140 had the same layout and controls.
Same with BMW, and Audi (well in case of Audi, they still are highly similar. I like that, even if I don't like their newer interiors).

So, why not sharing components? I welcome that. A brand should keep its spirit in every model of the line-up.

Because all three share the same 'backbone' as the F01, and thus have much of the same electronics and gadgets...

The smaller cars will share the backbone of the next gen 3er, most probably.

BMW should take it slow. We still don't know how the Diesel will perform in the US.
I prefer to see a 725d with a 2liter with 204hp, but i guess something like 1800kg would be to much for such little engine.

This car is slowly growing on me...I think I still have to see it in real life to completely like it though.
