Yep rims are crap and that's something that started from the previous generation of german cars, even the most basic wheels should be decent for such cars.

The rims are alright. Mercedes offer similar low-key rims for non pompous people wanting to enjoy a large executive car without looking ostentatious. Not everybody want to be rolling on 22s especially people above the age of 50 simply looking for a comfortable car.

PS: Make no mistake, I would have done that car properly with some larger rims.

Cars are still RHD in Hong Kong, trust me, my dad is working in Hong Kong.

I just recently finished working on an X5 that was destined for China and it was LHD. I don't know if it's the same as in Japan, but over there, a LHD is considered very special. People in the 90's would order MB's LHD and they would be considered very very untouchable... aka yakuza

in the next couple of weeks BMW will be introducing the new car behind closed doors to clients in Hong Kong , Shanghai and Beijing so it is possible that this is one of these vehicles destined for the preview.
BMW are effectively taking the 7er around the world to show respective clients the new car, As BMW are effectively targeting the new 7er with developing markets first before the rest of the roll out.

this has already proven with last gen 7 series
