i5 has really shitty range. It has even less range than its own iX. Even with 19" wheels, it is still way less than an iX with 21" -

That's what happens when you fit a 84kWh battery, same size as a Model 3 LR that weighs 1200 pounds less.

iX has an 111kWh battery.

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago on the W214 v. G60 thread, I saw a G60 as I was driving by and it looks much better in person than in pics.

Which is the case with so many BMW's of today. Though I'm yet to hear someone say anything of the sort regarding the XM

While it looked better in person, I still reserve judgment until I get a proper look at it when it's stationary and close-up rather than me zipping by it on the highway.

I hope they won’t repeat the mistake from the X6M.

That front looks like a merge between Lexus and Toyota Yaris + the 1% what’s left from an 1er.

I don't know man, it's to my mind very colour sensitive. The darker colours suit it more, I think. That black one was nice.

This one, this colour I'm not sure. I'll need a trip to the dealer at somepoint.

Finally saw it in person today. Nope, not a fan. Also some people said the surfacing is amazing in person.. but idk about that, the reflections on the side profile are not it, looks bad.

Seats were super comfy and I like the layout, but the interior quality has definitely take a noticable hit in the lower area with lots of plastic usage.

I do think it looks best in darker colours especially the navy dark blue metallic with the silver grill. But that silver colour vertical trim piece on the back bumper just looks off and reminds me of some saber tooth tiger got his fangs caught in the back bumper. White seats and door panels and 2 spoke wheel are the best colour and wheel for this interior.

@Gor134 Could you add a bit more context? I have seen 1 review where they complained about the window switch area having shitty plastic in a car of this price range. But IMO most car manufacturers do this.

Gone are the days when real chrome metallic parts were part of the interior.

Check the window switch surrounding trim on this 1968 BMW 2000

Plastic is king now adays.

The whole door as a whole felt cheap to me. Seems like it has quite an intricate design to distract from the quality, but the door plastics felt super cheap and flimsy to me. Even the white leatherette panel was super hard. Same thing with some of the center console pieces, chunky hard plastic, not really the premium feel or look I'm used to, from the G30s.

I think with how simple the interior design language has gotten, it's a lot easier to notice the plastics.

And regarding this 5er........like I said many times before, BMW should have made an EV sedan based off the iX and be done with it. The 5er is clearly ruined by wanting to be all at the same time. MB made a better choice (on paper at least, because in real life they completely botched it with their hideous EQ disaster).

Not so sure. I kind of like the i5… like really like it. Probably one of the few EVs i like. Would I get one? Don’t think so
