I don't know if Model S is the reason - i3 and Model s were all in complete different segments. But the end result is the same - BMW leadership got chicken feet, lost Diess, fools like Frölich and Kruger took over, they sat on the ass. And now you see these mediocre monstorities.I believe the party-spoiler for BMW was the Tesla Model S. BMW have invested billions in their i program with the i3 and the hybrid i8, having the self esteem that they are two years ahead of all the established competitors......... but suddenly a new boy comes and steals the show. The i3 and i8 lost their sex appeal in a minute and all these billions went to waste.
But then again, you never know, maybe i5 will be a sales rockstar, unlike rest of the i crap.
