EQA [Official] The new 2021 Mercedes-Benz EQA EV

The Mercedes-Benz EQA is a battery electric subcompact luxury crossover SUV (C-segment) produced by Mercedes-Benz since February 2021. Part of the EQ family, the vehicle uses the MFA2 platform, which designates C-segment and smaller-sized D-segment vehicles which use a base front-wheel drive layout.
Its expensive, small inside, heavy, slow, range is average. Why people would buy it?

Well, here in Germany you can get up to 9000€ EV incentives, which puts the base price of the EQA 250(47k€) into the GLA 180/200(38k€) area. Furthermore the base EQA comes with higher amount of standard equipment(rear view camera, LED headlights, stationary heating, heat pump, navigation, more assistent systems and more) compared to the regular GLA.

Also the EV Mercs are usually quieter, their build quality seems to be better compared to their ICE counterparts and you also do not have to deal with the 1.33 engine or the 7G dct in the GLA 180/200. Lower maintenance of the EQA is also a plus.

He measured consumption at 90 km/h, 110 km/h and 130 km/h. :)

4Matic models became available. :)

The most important key data of the new engines:
  • EQA 300 4MATIC, 168 kW / 228 PS, 390 Nm, 7.7 seconds to 100 km/h, 17.5-18.5 kWh / 100 km
    • Range of 409-432 km according to WLTP.
  • EQA 350 4MATIC, 215 kW / 292 PS, 520 Nm, 6.0 seconds to 100 km/h, 17.5-18.5 kWh / 100 km
    • Range of 400-426 km according to WLTP
The following applies to both new variants:
  • 430 kg payload, 2,105 kg weight (EQA 250: 2,040 kg, identical payload)
  • Luggage compartment volume identical to the EQA 250: 340-1,320 liters
  • Maximum charging power 113 kW (DC), net battery capacity: 66.5 kWh
  • Top speed: 160 km/h
  • 4MATIC all-wheel drive by means of an additional permanent magnet synchronous machine (PSM)

We can make a quiz: name the things in the EQA in which it is better than the Hyundai Ionik 5.
And send the result to Daimler.

Even interior quality of the Ionic is just superb for this class and way above the EQA. And then we don't even have to start about interior/exterior design, range, charging/DIScharging, practicality, spaciousness and whatever else I am missing.

I am sorry guys I do not want to come over as a troll or anything but this EQA probably looks worse than the already positively hideous EQS. The Germans have to step it up fast, otherwise the first half of the 21st century will be their downfall from the top. At least the EQS supposedly comes with the latest tech, whereas the EQA is a turd all around.

You're still the best @Wolfgang, don't take it personally (I know you won't). We all love your contributions and attitude.
