^ Of course the C217 is a modern day masterwork..and will become a classic..but I am a firm believer that old is gold and for me no modern car could match them..Merry Christmas by the way..(y)

I have to agree there, where are the truly lusty paint and leather options. They could even bring back some of their older paints.

Can't you chose whatever your heart desires through 'Designo'?
I don't know if you can; however at a recent holiday in Mumbai last month I saw a two tone Maybach; almost had to do a double take since the color scheme was so similar to the Mulsanne

Yes, but the steep price of admission and the extra time needed for production are keeping potential customers away. Even for "special order only" models like the S65, S600, and Maybach dealers playing it safe and ordering 040 Black or Diamond white for inventory.

I inquired on Designo Mystic blue for S63 Coupé and I was informed that I would have to wait an extra 90-120 days. Supposedly, the more expensive the model, the more expensive the Designo paints are, which makes little sense - it should be standard on Maybachs and V12s for more differentiation.

Exterior Paint Option

That's very interesting Sako. As a potential customer, would you mind a 3 month wait for what would be such an exclusive and unique car? The cost of the Designo paints for you guys is quite reasonable, and in many markets they can wait 6 months + for a pretty standard car, let alone a Designo one.

Do you have information on paint to sample ? It seems almost non existent on Mercedes compared to the number of Exclusive Porsche or Individual BMW you can see/read about on forum/specialised website.

I'm leaning towards Designo route and keeping it long-term like my F06. Now the question is pre or post-FL?; a question that will answered when the FL W222 debuts.

The only way to get paint-to-sample on an production MB is to make an order via AMG HQ. The prices are prices are rumored to be €15,000+ & an even longer wait time.

Maybach Manufaktur (pre Maybach S222) used to allow paint-to-sample for the facelift 57s & 62s, but prices made Porsche PTS look like a bargain.

Those designo names sound delicious.

Do you get to see samples (remember those Maybach showrooms)?

@sako97, thanks for the comprehensive list.
I finally found the perfect blue shade for the S550 Cabriolet I'll never be able to afford: Slate Blue Varilcolor designo. It seems to have the right hint of purple in the blue that'll give it a nice nautical vibe. Maybe one day....

My friend waited 6 months for his S 500 coupe with just the designo interior. I think it is definitely worth the wait, especially for cars at this level.

Yeah, I'll definitely wait if I'm spending that much. Just to stand out from the herd.

Why a $150k car has the trunk ceiling metal uncovered?
I'm interested in buying an S Coupe and I was blown away when I've seen that...
