In 2019, BMW introduced the X4 M and X4 M Competition (F98), being the first time an X4 had a M version. The X4 M is fitted with a 3.0 L S58 straight-six that produced 473 horsepower with the Competition models producing 503 horsepower. Full M models can be fitted with full M specific M Performance Parts. These include a splitter, spoiler, sport steering wheel, carbon fibre vents and kidney grilles.

Very mixed bag reactions. General consensus brilliant engine and exhaust sounds great, then again this has no OPF.

It's because although a great car, it doesn't introduce anyhing new to the segment which has well acclaimed options such as the Stelvio Q, Macan Turbo and GLC63. Lastly, the debut of the X3M has been dulled by the excellent and well priced X3 M40i.

Other than that X3M was overdue and so is an RSQ5.

@ BMWBlog, you stated previously to one of my concern that the car was making burbbles as well. Which Specs did you test drove, US or EU one? as it seems EU won't get AGAIN the same level of sound.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
