Looks like I have been "Swollocked" again.

It's kind of silly. You're defending something that doesn't exist yet and nobody's seen. Betty's talking about a track record (justified). You're complaining it's not reasonable. The whole conversation is theoretical and silly until there's actually some thing to talk about.

I'm hoping that thing becomes apparent and visible soon, even if it only means there will be a real meaningful conversation...

Took a few snaps of the X2 there a few weeks ago. Nothing new here but I thought I'd look a little a closer at some of the detailing and surfacing..

This shot is absolutely spectacular almost CGI, if BMW can build it exactly like this it will be a huge success, rear fender badges and all.

From some angles both the concept, and the test car, struck me as working really well... but I can't help look at most of the pictures and think it's too similar to the X1 profile. We'll see, I'm still oddly excited for this car.

Interesting... I always saw this as being a problem if as the car takes on a new approach to the now classical BMW SAC design.

Did you manage to gain an insight into the interior? I'm guessing its a straight copy and paste from the X1?

IRL how did the roofline look? Was it 3DR Evoque like? did it compromise towards the rear or is the Greenhouse simply giving this effect? Its really hard to judge this through photos

My feelings precisely. I know they're not going to do it, but I'd always felt the X2 should be a 2-dr, and have a more sloped roof... something more like the MINI Paceman.

Couldn't get close enough to the concept and didn't get close enough to the test car, sorry.

The concept exaggerates how low the roof gets at the back, on the test car the shallow greenhouse was much more clearly achieved by raising the shoulder line of the car - rather than tapering the roof - in that respect it was more like the Evoque. If the production version carries across the heavily sculpted sides seen here..

.. then it could work.. if it's toned down a lot then as far as looking "coupe" like goes, I think it'll simply look more like an X1 with it's trousers pulled right up. I did see a number of X1's wearing camo in Munich and from the rear it was not immediately obvious if I was looking at an X1 or X2... this is not a criticism you could make of the X3-X4 or the X5-X6, or for that matter any other true coupe in the line-up. For this reason I'm still sceptical that they've done enough with the X2.

One thing I will say, is that the swirly camo really is effective. I'm looking back at the shots taken in Munich, and I'm not seeing the shapes and forms in the photos that I remember seeing at the time, so I do believe it's going to look better in the flesh than most renderings or spy shots would have us believe - even if the roof is only tapered by an inch or two in reality.
