Defender [Official] The All-new 2020 Land Rover Defender (L663)

The Land Rover Defender (initially introduced as the Land Rover One Ten, and in 1984 joined by the Land Rover Ninety, plus the new, extra-length Land Rover One Two Seven in 1985) is a series of British off-road cars and pickup trucks. They consistently have four-wheel drive, and were developed in the 1980s from the original Land Rover series which was launched at the Amsterdam Motor Show in April 1948.
Why do they keep on flipping? Is it poor stability at high speeds? Inadequate and poor driving skills or just too powerful? Or stability on uneven surfaces?
A bit of all.
As I recall, there is always a warning that these vehicles with a high center of gravity are prone to rollover.
Until some enlightened invent a system that avoids it, .......... they are solving the AD but none of this

Is there some sort of epidemic of G-wagens flipping I'm missing? I've had both generations and I would have to chalk that up to poor driving skills. Anyone used to driving a big box SUV shouldn't find themselves in trouble. The current G63 drives like a dream compared to the last gen.

The G-Class, like most traditional body-on-frame SUVs, has a high CoG. Most properly purposed off-roaders are easy to roll when tripped up. It's not a design fault - just an outcome of the type of product. No surprises here...

Not sure whether the G gets roll stability control either which is brilliant for avoiding roll over.

I see the Defender every week. I can't believe that I'm saying this but I fancy the 3 door. It's much better proportioned(squarish like the G-Class) than the 5door one and doesn't look as bulky up front.

Specced up the price of a V6 or V8 Defender is tough to swallow. However a G-Glass isn't exactly a bargain.

Accessorising where sometimes a G-Klasse fears to tread. The last G-Klasse I saw similar accessorised had mistaken a snow laden barrier for a snowbank. And the young lady flipped it.
Quelle Surprise. Somehow these fools flipped theirs on a beach.

Driving at speed on a beach is pretty dangerous, its really easy to flip, even in a car with a much lower center of gravity than a G wagon.

I go back and forth. I like the 3-door now and then the 5-door. At the moment, I want the 5-door V8 please.

Damn. Urban automotive have answered my prayers.

This is the best looking defender yet. It looks as butch as a Brabus G800 but at quarter of the cost.

Glamour angles at 10:17min.

I'm not feeling the vinyl on the side of the car.
It is one of the few vinyls that is worth having in a vehicle, I would include the "Camel" as well.
It was spectacular to see, I could not imagine doing it and it rivaled the Dakar in toughness, pure real adventure, they qualified a team by country and you had to be brave,
Maybe you know, but it's nice to relive those images

I finally saw one today, while driving at the highway and it was the 110 chassis.

The only thing I have to say is that it looks mucking afazing and that I want one so bad, that I'd take it even if it was a fiberglass body on a Golf 4 chassis.
