Ghost [Official] Rolls-Royce Ghost (2021-)

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a full-sized luxury car manufactured by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The "Ghost" nameplate, is named in honour of the Silver Ghost, a car first produced in 1906. The production model was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Ghost Extended Wheelbase was introduced in 2011. During development, the Ghost was known as the "RR04". It was designed as a smaller, "more measured, more realistic car" than the Phantom, aiming for a lower price category for Rolls-Royce models.

It’s the epitome of success. The first one was ultra successful that when they talked to owners the general request was not to mess with the formula that made the Ghost achieve high recognition within its first generation.

For those in design it can be frustrating to develop new ideas and new interpretations when the brief from a design point of view asks to be more evolutionary rather than revolutionary. Wraith and Cullinan took this route.

But with Ghost it’s like the formula with MINI or Porsche 911 to go over the entire outline and add an angle or curve here or there but make it more modern. Both Phantom and new Ghost are clearly products of successful evolutionary thinking.

Love the new edgy look - just about modern with out overdoing it. Still don't know why BMW wouldn't electrify this car - it is the perfect candidate to experiment with a big ass battery -
Cost - not an issue
Weight - not an issue
Lack of sound - a plus
The effortless torque of electric motors - a big plus
People buying this would have a house and 2nd/3rd car making charging non issue for most part

The CEO has already stated the brand will become fully electric, they’re waiting for the battery technology to become better to the point that having to charge the car is no longer an issue.

Wonder where the CEO thinks that point is? Especially given this is one car where you could solve any range issues by just making the battery bigger without being impeded by weight nor cost.

Some are waiting, some are acting. And than again it will be somebody else's fault (customers are not ready blah, blah).

Maybe they are first testing the i7 that we have already seen to see how their first large electric car performs and then move on to the RR, but I understand that the aluminum platform is new and unique from RR, so I do not know how that can end becoming.

With this pandemic, the studio presentation videos were filmed in February, and now with the car recently presented the reviews are almost immediate, the slogan is to sell soon, the same happens with the S class, the tests and comparisons are already there (autoexpres review)

Hi "dalab", I think if they include 22" wheels, maybe on the Black Badge version, it might look more attractive in profile.
I read there that they presented it with 21", I think you are right and being more "massive" than the previous one, some 22" would be the best thing, and I thought that maybe they will go crazy and put 23" on the Black Badge

Ahh the famous Bentley/Rolls and other exotics dealer in Chicago on Rush St in the Gold Coast area. I've walked past there a million+ times in life. That contraption behind the Rolls is a lift for cars to get to the upper floors and down to the street level.
