Something is just off here.

Let me guess, it's lacking a star on the hood and it's not an S class?
Because this here looks properly royal.
I'm not of the same opinion my friend. It looks a goofy mess from the side and the rest of the design is a complete yawn.
I'm not of the same opinion my friend. There ain't nothing goofy about these proportions:

They look practically identical in proportions to me!Yeah the new one looks awful to me. Windshield base to the front wheels are not spaced right. Really goofy looking.

The old car is crisper and better proportioned IMO.

They look practically identical in proportions to me!Need a proper side-by-side photo comparison...

Ugh! You ruined it for me ... lol. That said the new Phantom and Ghost aren’t as brutish and as unapologetically brash and achingly beautiful as the last gen cars. The way the headlights kink Up makes it look so immature IMO. Not fitting of a Rolls-Royce (which should have an expressionless and arrogant face) IMO. I finally figured out why the rear end bothered me so much and it’s because the rear lights remind me of the W205 C-Class. The previous Series 1 and 2 models had a far more elegant look.
The first gen Ghost was better to look atNah that would be you guys hard core BMW guys liking Rolls because they're owed by BMW. Has nothing to do with Mercedes. This car is anything but royal to me. It looks a goofy mess from the side and the rest of the design is a complete yawn. Flying Spur easily for me in this market.

I also wonder what it will beI'm curious to know what's that thing in @dalab 's avatar.
Both the Phantom and the Ghost have a very Bentley - esqe rear. A Mulsanne copy as modern classics go but also following the design ethos of Rolls of the pastThe first Ghost could be appreciated without any delay in acceptance. In a word it was perfect. It fitted the ethos of Rolls-Royce and even though it was the “entry” model. There was nothing to diminish its status.
The new Ghost is not love at first sight. But I am warming to it. Having now seen it,
it jumps out in the flesh more especially in profile.
My issue was with the rear more so. It felt more Bentley but it flows better when seen in person.

Fine, I still am under the impression some here are quite vocal because of that other car, but what do I know....
