I'm still waiting for the performance figures which I hope will create one hell of a shock wave. They've been working on this car for ages so the performance better live up to the hype or else I'll be pissed! More stuff should be leaking as we get closer to monday. It weighs more than the M5 and has less power as well. I'll be bowing down on my knees if it has the ability to trump the M5. The Turbo S will probably launch in 2-3 years when the new M5 hits the market, very strategic move by Porsche.

front is amazing, who knew it could turn out so differently from the other porsches. Rear may need to get use to.

I guess many of the criticisms on this forum is towards the rear and side profile. I can totally see why...

I don't see this car as a competitior to the M5. The turbo S will be a lot more expensive than a M5. More of a competitor to other 4-doors Coupé and when BMW decide to launch BMW CS then we have a real competitior for the Panamera. When BMW build their next M5 they will be aiming towards E-class and A6, those are the cars people will be cross shopping between, not with a Panamera Turbo S.

People shop all types of performance sedans and people will most definitely shop BMW's best sedan with this Porsche. They don't have to lineup exactly to be cross shopped. A Porsche sedan is a natural competitor to a BMW M sedan. In the U.S. they'll be compared and shopped all the time. It won't matter what trim level the Porsche is or whether or not it is coupe/sedan or not. M5, CLS/E AMG, Quattroporte, XJR, XFR, all these will be looked at at the lower level or the Porsche' Pana range.

That said, don't know what to make of this yet.

This I think I can agree with but not with the top version Panamera S. Sounds like S version going to be twice as expensive than a M5/E63. That is a hefty price difference if it turns out to be the case. Then those really rich people more likely going to crosshop between Rapide, 4-door Lamborghini and Panamera S.

It's safe to say the German's just can't do it like the Italians. I just look and compare this to the Maserati Quattroporte, and the Panamera is terrible. Being completely honest, that side profile is one of the worst that I've ever seen in a modern day car. Every other 4-door coupe has had a much better profile, the CLS, the VW Passet CC, BMWs CS concept, and Aston's Rapide... but Porsche get this totally wrong. They should have gone for a 4-door coupe look rather than a 4-door 911 stretch.

Could be better, but after the Cayenne, everthing that comes is good:D
Front is good, the rest is really bad:t-crazy2:

The Panamera Turbo will likely land somewhere between 100-120k which isn't overly pricey considering that an E63 AMG is very close to 90k. The Turbo S on the other hand will cost a little more. But in the end I believe the Turbo will get a nice bump with the facelift as the other three germans are boosting HP to ridiculous levels.

Wow.. there is so much to bitch about with that car.. it's heavily disproportioned and seems like an experiment went wrong!
I'm not claiming that the task was easy, but still, I mean come on.. seriously?

I have seen the prototypes of the car driving on the streets here in pforzheim several times (those green ones we've seen on trillions of spy shots).. the car is huge! but it's also very low, so some of you who don't like it from the photo should probably wait till they see the thing in the metal.

as for me, I don't think that I like it. I only like the front bumper. nothing more!
I'm sorry Sir Mixalot , but I don't "like big butts"!

Even still they will be compared by some, it won't matter the price. This is a Porsche sedan which makes all the difference. Rich folks will be comparing it with any and everything extreme with 4-doors, especially in the U.S. market. People cross shop everything nowadays. The top of the line Pana probably won't be shopped with E63s M5s and what not by many, but some will always check out what can be had for less that is similar in performance.

I don't find the shape to be much of a problem. The fault lie in the details and which is where Porsche screwed it up. On the other hand positive touch ups will be made with the facelift. But there's still a lot of potential in what's in front of us. With a dark body paint and some proper sized rims the car has the possibility to look pretty good. So I'm quite optimistic.

OMG, that first shot above me looks sooooo bad :( What have they done?!?!?!? :t-crazy2::eusa_thin:jpshakehe

I'm really starting to like the Panermera. It will be a real headturner on the streets, thats for sure.;)

My first impression from these pics is not a good one. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned how this new P-car looks like a stretched 4 door Chrysler Crossfire, especially the rear.

Purely from a looks point of view, I think the CLS and Rapide are far better looking 4 door "coupes".

At first glance I was totally floored - How could Porsche botch the profile of this car so badly?

Then, after seeing the 3/4 and elevated views above, I start to see how this car is situated in 3-dimensions and get an entirely different impression. This car is growing on me fast - shame that it's making its debut at the worst time possible.
